the horror. the horror.

i can't believe how low people can sink...this show is proof that civilization is, indeed, doomed.

are you talking about that show where they go and get surgery and all sorts of stuff done to them physically so they look better? well the fact is that for alot of ppl, and i think its the majority, the way we look on the outside can and does affect the way we feel on the inside because it affects the way other ppl. react to us...on the other hand it promotes the notion that to be happy one must above all be good looking and keep up appearances, and that looking better is the key to happiness...which of course isn't true...the show also doesn't follow through after surgery and i've heard that often times what happens is that attitudes of ppl. around change for the worse (!) after these ppl. have extreme makeovers...i dont know

I'm not a pretty sight, but DAAAYAM, if I was as ugly as some of the people on that show I'd get plastic surgery fo sheezy... Or at least I wouldn't decline it if someone offered it to me for free. Sure looks aren't EVERYTHING, but they sure make a heck of a difference in many aspects of life.

i don't really see what's wrong w/ it.

I think most ppl are in a state of trying to improve themselves. I only wish that I had those resources. Instead, I but my ass at the gym, try to eat the right things and take care of myself. I am trying to accept the things I can't change as well.

I particularly like the Make up/plastic surgery etc. advertisements whilst the show is on. Somebody had their marketing cap on didn't they?

I think it's a great show and very emotional. Our society has gone a little overboard with all the boob jobs, nose jobs, and tummy tucks, etc...people are so vain these days. However, this show is aimed at people who are just hopeless, and people who can actually be considered handicapped because of their physical appearance. One of the first shows featured this young black girl who had a cleft pallate. Her whole upper lip was split down the center and it prevented any teeth from growing. She was totally deformed and they gave her teeth, fixed her nose and mouth, and gave her some liposuction too because she was overweight from depression. I almost cried watching it. She was so overwhelmed when they were done with just her teeth.

The other night that show was on and this girlfriend of mine was over and we were all watching it. She was sort of against it and was like, "You know, people should just be happy with what God gave them, bla bla bla". I just laughed at the irony because she had a nose job a few years ago....not to mention it's easy to have that mentality when you are attractive.

I also think Gastric Bypass surgery is acceptable for people (and young kids especially) who are obese due to heredity. Not only will they go through life miserable and depressed, but they can die at a young age because it’s so unhealthy to be that overweight. There’s a lot of gray area involved in this subject…

I used to dislike plastic surgery, but after seeing the faces on those people, my god, they're doing us a public service by getting a facelift. :nervous:

I saw that one with the two twins where one was good lookin and the other was like a monster out of a fairytale. They fixed her up and they look like identical twins almost. It was crazy what they can do to you.

The only thing i'd ever get done is I have a slight bump on my nose from when i broke it as a kid and it sorta bothers me and is sore sometimes but i hate watching them on tv doing nose stuff and they like peel back ur face from your skull and stuff.

i used to think plastic surgery was bad, but now i luv it and cant get enuff of it.

Since they did my penis operation, i'm so happy.

Finally the thing fits in my underwear!
