Secondly about Hip-Hop, Rap as an EDM style. I don't think so, cos' in Hip-Hop music mainly you listen vocals, the electronic part of Hip-Hop music i.e. the beat is not the mainly component of this style.
Then you consider some Rock, Pop artists EDM... cos' they use a synthetizer. In fact Sting has some productions with electronic effects, then do you consider him an electronic dance artist?? |
I know plenty of people who listen to rap/hip-hop just for the beat or basslines. Now getting even more technical, today it seems that hip-hop focuses more on the rhymes/lyrics whereas rap is more about the beat (lyrics are important but the beat is just as important and sometimes more important than the lyrics).
Now Sting is an artist, not a genre of music. Sure there are always artists who break the "boundaries" of their genre and explore other sounds but just because they have a few songs out of their usual sound does not change what style of artist they are. |

Drum and Bass and Breaks here in North Carolina, I am sad to say. Trance is hated here. There are a few trance fans but not as many as I would like.
North Carolina has some of the best DnB talent in the states. |

Glasgow is full of universities which means loads of students which means loads of cheesy nightclubs. and also a lot of rnb.
Altho glasgow has a fantastic selection of clubs for techno, house, prog, and trance, it's very much underground, which i think is a good thing.:D |

| When it comes to EDM Australia is pretty big on breaks. Locally where I live it's mostly funky house & hardhouse. The occasional trance night pops up every now and then. |

In HOuston there is a lot of weekly events w/ house dj's dominating the scene. Not enough trance, or good trance for that matter.
However Spundae will definately bring on the variety. |

| Going by some of the major radio stations here, I would say Euro Dance aka Cheese, Freestyle aka Cheese, Hip Hop and R&B. If it weren't for the Guvernment, System Soundbar, progressive or trance wouldn't have much playing time here. |
