little help with streaming vids

i do not have the software/hardware to capture streaming video but i would really like to get a copy of a video segement. i was on cbs evening news with dan rather tonight and the clip is now online. i would really appreciate it if someone could rip the clip and then send it to me. the clip can be found here...

go download Windows Media Encoder from microsoft.
it has options for screen capture, etc. |

yeah, just d/l it, and when you go through the startup wizard, you'll see that it has an option for capturing video from an area of the screen that you specify. just drag the box over the stream you want, and set the quality settigns how you want 'em, and start the stream. when you stop it, you'll have a lovely little .wmv file of what you just captured.
p.s. make sure that you capture the audio too. if it aint doing that right, try right clicking on the speaker in the system tray, go to open volume control, then options, properties, adjust volume for recording, ok, then select stereo mix instead of microphone.

| now i used a program that was similar to this before....only prob was that is raped my resources and the only vid i could decently get were about 12 fps. i am hoping this is better. |

| should be, but it's very important with setting up the capture, that you set it for higher quality, or bitrate, or whatever. it should work allright. how fast's your CPU? |

| intel 2.0 Ghz with 512 ram and 64 mb vid card. i tried real quick and it came out like crap (5fps). i will try and play around with some settings. |

| ok. i cant quite get this damn thing to work. could someone that knows how please just rip the vid before they take it offline. it is only about 2 mins. thanks guys. the link to the vid is now down at the bottom under "health" |

Got it. A little pixellated but that's as good as it gets.
