personally to this question of gay marriages I take not the natrual or religious, or moral argument to champion my claim. I take the historical argument.
Historically we have had many a gay societies (bi-sexual mind you, but in many of them, guys liked guys a lot more then the girls... In Sparta for instance, no the marriage night, the wife would wear a beard to 'ease' the guy into having sex with a women). In none of these societies has the concept of 'marriage' ever existed between man and man or women and women, it has always been man and women.
So for all our known history of society and marriage, we have never had this, despite having prevelant homosexuality, why should it be different today? |

Homosexuality does not hurt anyone, it is an expression of love and affection or sexual gratification between same sexes.

So just becuase religion says it is immoral, that is the word of truth???
|
it does not make it the truth, it is only their opinion and belief.
what happened to the tolerance of others' views?
jews keep kosher because milk and meat dont mix well in the stomach, is that true, probably not, but it is a religious tradition.... so freaking what...
btw rizen, good point there with the abortion... but agian back to my arguement, just because we have to ability to do something or that it is natural doesnt make it right... (and ironically here agian i am for adoption) |

While I was eating some delicious madcow beef ribs (less than one percent of meat is checked in the US so I'm pretty much already ed), I remembered that mother nature deals with cannibilism. Theres a simular effect of madcow to humans as well as other animals who eat their own species.

So, you are trying to tell me nature has a built in 'way' to stop humans from eating cows that eat cows?
How many babies have you been eating exactly?!

Lots of animal species conduct cannibilism or killing of offspring as natural occurances. In fact cannibilism has been natural in certain human tribes in PNG. this does not mean we need to bend over backwards and be accepting of these practices, or even call it a right.
|
But being gay is not hurting anybody physically, you're not causing anybody to die by being gay...cannibilism in fact is causing death or causing grave injury to one another. So comparing eating one another and ing one another is not an accurate comparison IMHO. |

for freaks sake, thats not the point... fine you want a better comparision, here:
It is immoral for jews to do work on the sabbath, however it is natural and inherent in our genes to do work on any given day, however relgion said that it is not the right thing to do on a saturday. this example does not hurt anbody else physically.
sheesh, you happy now? |

| If the purpose of the thread is to make a case for homosexuality in the sense that it is not evil/wrong/unnatural/etc. then it makes sense. But if the purpose of the thread is to refute marriage laws then it doesn't make any sense. Laws are man-made ... therefore they inherentely always go against nature. Right? |
