Hi!!

I am planning to buy a set of turntables. but it is only for home use/mixing. my only demands are it will go well with Trance mixing and a little scratching now and then. I cant afford Technics tt's. but im sure there are ok alternatives.

I have looked at these 2 tables so far:

1) Stanton Str8-30B with a premounted 500B Cartridge(is it a good cartridge?):
www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=04...ase_pid/801074/

2) Numark TT200:

I need all the feedback i can get....

Thanks.
:)

get the tt200.
they compare to stanton 80s

what is the most your willing to spend? you might be able to get better tables.

Really, if you can't afford technics or a good alternative, try not to buy utter crap anywayz. Go for at least str8-80's. Because otherwise chances are you're gonna regret it in no time. Save up, wait a little longer, and buy something worth the money.

OK.

djlemeir are comparing the TT200 with Stanton str8-80. and $250 is the limit. so what am i best of with comparing those 2 tables?

another aspect of this, is to get some proper needles. my only demands are they will go well with trance mixing and are able to handle a little scratching now and then. and here im sorry to say again, that money is a issue. so what should i go for???

Thanks for your help :gsmile:

lol... if u can only spend 250 on a whole set, dont bother getting tables. i would just wait and work until i have enough money to get better tables. you can find awesome deals on ebay or anywhere else all the time. for $600 i saved up. i got one mk2, one m3d, and a numark dxm-06. defnitely save up
Magicflight
dont get me wrong. i didnt ment $250 on a hole set. but $250 on each table. and then comes the needles....
djlemeir
yeah save up.
as for needles, if ur starting off, u mite as well get stanton 500"s.
there not the best but its more than enuff

!!!!! 250 on each table? and ur getting str8 30's. you can definitely get an mk2 on ebay for 250. here.. check out this link too. www.musicgoround.com or go here, www.craigslist.org (for this link you have to choose your area on the right side first, then click the button that says for sale before you search). hope that helps. also, if you are interested, the new ttx1's for numark have a version of it that is non-digital, but with the same exact specs (no led screen) its called tt-500's. these are just as good as the ttx-1's. if you go on ebay you can find them for 230 brand new. thats another option if your looking for new decks. pm me if u have any more questions.

djlemeir: the str8-80 comes with the 520sk needle. will that fill out my needs?

Another way, and I would seriously suggest this if you can find one on Ebay for around $250, check into the Vestax PDX 2000. I own 2 Vestax's, and a Technics 1210mk5g. While I love technics and they were the tables I spun on repeatedly for 4 years, I can honestly say Vestax made a beleiver out of me. They have serious torque, way more than even my Tech. 1210mk5g. and they are built like tanks especially the tone arm it feels like it's made out of mag light casings; plus the tone arm is virtually unskipable, you can litteraly hit the side of the table with your fist while a record is playing, and the needle won't skip or even jump! If you find a good deal on Technics go with those they're damn reliable, but if you have the money go Vestax you won't be disapointed!

well....i have never tried shopping through Ebay. so im a little afraid by paying upfront.

is the Stanton str8-80 tt such a bad unit? and then a needle to aprox. $50?

i know many in here are hardware fanatics. but when it it for home use only, i can imagine other, than it is a fine turntables for my use.

or im i totally of track??
