i think it might be this track...
LAND BETWEEN GROOVES 'ELECTRICITY'(WHOOP)

thanks again for the guest list john :D
i had a wicked time last night...
loved the whole overall vibe in the club... i spent a couple of hours dancing in charlie's... during Angus Robinson's set... and he didn't disappoint... what a wicked set... i made it out for the remainder of hernan's set and loved what i heard from him... i have never danced so much in one night ever...

Well, I'd probably have to say that I enjoyed Hernan's set at System more than this one. I enjoyed it for the most part, but his last 30 min's nearly put me to sleep!!! I was praying for Mark to go on stage ASAP. I'm at least glad he's done something with that curly mullet of his- his new 'do looks MUCH better!

Once Mark was on, he had to transition from the slow chug, and buildup to a better speed, tho I still would've liked an even harder close out to the night, cuz I really wanted some super duper high energy stuff. One thing's for sure: Mark is always so flawless up there, and his mixing is amazing.

As for the crowd... saw a fair amount of TA's, but the creeps were out in full force that nite. Lotsa old trolls out on the prowl. And don't get me started on the amount of whistle-blowers, either... What-evah!!! :whip:

Mark O: was sad that I didn't get to chat to you that nite- it's been ages!
Viper (the lurker): hope u and your buddies had fun celebrating your friend's 25th.
Swamper: missed ya somehow...
Samhouse: you're a trooper!
Trancegeek: waiting for your opinion on the evening
Cuzo, CristinA, Irish Graham, & Adrian- great hanging with you guys all nite (& morning)
and to everyone else: big hugs!

Defenitely a better set than the first time I saw hernan spinin' @ Guv last year.

MARK Oliver delivered once again, not that it's a surprise to moi!LOL!

Writing while in SAFE MODE is so much fun since every letter is HUGE on the Screen!

Pictures must be up soon

I thought his set was phenomenal, by far the best of all 3 I've heard from him so far!

as for the stabbing incident, it happened in the back half of main room, I was standing in that area at the time... there were about 10 or so people fighting, forming a huge circle of people watching what looked like a greco-roman style bout before all the bouncers stormed in...

fun night, still recovering

Hey guys,

Well it was another nice night surrounded by great people. First off, supreme thanks to John for the last minute guestlist and bar treats. All I can say is "ugly Jesus" :haha:

Shaya, I can't wait to check out your always stellar pics and really enjoyed chatting with you. Graham, Tat and Cono_sur, it's always better when you guys are there.....hope you had fun.

EricVagrant, awesome meeting you and I really hope to spin with ya soon. Loved your music tastes and enjoyed talking shop ;)

As for Hernan, interesting if somewhat minimal set with out a lot of vocal hooks. At times he had me dancing proper and others just interstingly listening to the soundscapes. As this was my first live taste from him I have no comparable reference but I'd say it was solid but not "blow-me-away". There WERE moments that really grabbed me like the "ELECTRICITY" track which was sooooo dirty and deep....must have!!!!!

However for those who slagging his sound and prog in general, as boring...consider this:

Guv's Fazon system is EQed and leveled primarily for Trance DJ's....(perhaps why most times Prog is in KH).....focusing on the low end (baseline) and high end (synth & strings) which are the focal points in most trance productions. Prog on the other hand usually relies on very subtle and intriquite mid range passes (pads and filtered efx) which is were the soul and spirit of those tracks really come out and enthrall the listener. I found on this night, that there was so much going on in Hernan's tracks that most people were not hearing because the system was not EQ'ed properly for that style of sound thus a lot of the music sounded flat and muted compared to what it could be.

When I walked up to the stage and heard what was coming from his moniters, it sounded so much richer and more amazing then the muffled sound on the main floor. There was so many layers and subtle melodies that were lost on the main speakers that, had they been more pronounced, would have turned more heads.....including mine.

I have to agree with earlier posts on Hernan's very disappointing set - insomniacs, forget counting sheep...get a copy of that set. I couldn't take being in that room for longer than 10 mins a time hoping that he would start into a set reminiscent of the one he spun at System. No such luck. Though I missed seeing him there, I heard enough great reviews from respected music lovers to know that it was a great set. Unfortunately we didn't get to witness a repeat of that. I really can't stand DJs that turn it on and off and vary their sets from city to city or club to club. Just play what makes the crowd go wild and stick with it!! I mean really...that dancefloor was dead. That is until Mark O. came on and once again made the night worthwile - respect to him, he's saved many a dreary night after a headling dj has flopped.

Ah well spent most of the night in the breaks room hearing some very danceable beats and great tunes. Good seeing nat and john out as usual and good meeting fuzion. Peace to all.

I really cant believe you thought that set of music could "put you to sleep". I was dancing like a in maniac all night long. I thought it was a great overall selection of dark, dirty, selection of all fairly unheard tracks. Very much so was this a true progressive sounding set, but not the kind of progressive that promotes the z's. Seems to me that all the true prog heads in here loved it up, where the others just seemed to not get it.

So, what's the verdict- was there, or wasn't there a stabbing at the Guv? There was a huge fight by the doors to the patio, and the Agura photopod thing was knocked over and broke in 2 pieces.
