Hey tranceaddict member's.How ya all livin'?

One of the event companies in my country are hostin a "Battle of the Dj's" competition, I was plannin to get myself enrolled in it.. Ive only been spinnin trance for the last 2-3 months, been mostly into for progressive,tech-house & tribal house..

At the age of 15, I know I dont stand much change of competing wit the BIG boys out here. But Im lookin at it as a point to exposure and to experience da feelin of playin in front of a considerably large crowd.

I was thinkin of spinnin out some hard trance & upliftin trance, less vocals ,which would make it easier to mix and dont waste time in break downs , cus I mite be gettin max 10-15 mins.So dont wanna loose time. Trance with drivin beats, to get the crowd behind me. And yes, since its gonna b lookin at my track selection, I think key matchin plays a major role and I have no clue on how to differentiate between keys and which go together.. Gettin to records to spin at the same time and countin my beats & transitions I cud handle..

Lil' help wud be much look'd up at.. ty all..

Much Respecta!!

Sounds interesting, though I'm not sure that I would personally enter that type of competition. 10-15 minutes just isn't enough for me. :)

im not trying to rain in on your parade but id be aware that youre probably gonna get demolished out there by other people that have been in it longer. first off, a dj 'battle' usually goes off of turntablism, not just spinning. i dont think having the tracks in key and a good 'track selection' will get you many points. most battles ive seen or known about revolved around scratching, though not all have. and the others usually worked off of well, turntablism, stuff like bad boy bill does at the start of his set. extreme mixing, like only using 32 beats off track to track and to just keep mixing aggressively. i mean, think about it, if it werent like any of those two ways, how could they judge a solely spun set of about 4-5 songs in only 15 mins? just my 2 cents. good luck-

Totally agree wit U.. But at tis age Im jus lookin to get up there N spin ..may'b tryin to mix as quick as I can. As I said I dont plan to puttin up wit the Big boys cause Im way behind, and the genre I spin cant really b used to battle wit..
