Hi people !
when I began studying I thought it would be cool to meet new people and to party with them. :)
But it seems that only 2 from hundred enjoy trance / techno , the rest of them hates it. :) -----> :sadgreen:
Too primitive structures they say. The same people can tell hours and hours from "some very unknown but very cool trash metal bands" but when it comes to trance they just show in arogant way that this is music for primitives, too unoriginal, always cover songs and repetitive elements :whip: :whip: :whip:
Imagine. I just could go there with Paul van Dyk, Tiesto and Ferry and introduce them as some guest students. 98 of 100 wouldn't recognize them and say: And you ? Do you also listen to this boring electronic music ?:whip:
God bless, I got some friends who really enjoy Trance. But I wonder why there seems so a big amount of trance haters around students of university...Just felt to tell you, ...

I know what you are talking about. The same situation at my university. I have been studying for three years now and there hasn't been a good party since then. The average student (at least most of the german students) seems to like that alternative stuff.

| the uni i go to is full of diverse people, so far i've met like 2 people who like trance but theres all these neo hippies who are into different stuff. like once i overheard some people talking about a dnb party and the other time a techno party. wouldnt know if they are into it like we are but i think its good that they have exposure and arent so narrow minded. i like the fact that they dont diss the music if they dont like it too. |

i would've thought that there would have been alot more electronica-fans with that in consideration..
well, you're better off than me. i've only met one :(
but i saw a poster saying there were gonna be DJs spinning some prog, trance and dnb around my campus; too bad i saw it a couple of days late.. :/
errr, so my point is, take a look around campus more if you can. i'm sure you'll find more ppl with the same interests! |

Well in my case I have good luck, two partners asked me for good trance and I ripped to them a pair of trance cd's. They enjoyed the stuff!
Also one of my closed friends go with me at the uni and he loves techno, like me :D |

| well uni has been good to me. introduced me to one of my now best friends, who loves trance as much as i do and we party together all the time, & it's cool that he lives in the same gaff as me as well. and it also introduced me to his sister who i did ... and that was nice |

| yeah i understand. i am in southern germany and i dont know anyone that likes EDM as much as me here. you have to be in a major city or close by at least. |

the thing is, do you want to meet people who are INTO trance or simply don't mind listening to it?
cuz i know a couple who have pvd sets and a friend of mine, whom i introduced to the scene, listens sometimes, but he's mostly an ASOT / DJ Sammy trancer (likes melodic stuff & stuff like pulsedriver - cambodia). listens to metallica most of the time though.
i'd say it'd be awesome to meet people who would potentially post here, that's what i define as a "tranceaddict" |

I thought that there was nobody at my uni who was into trance, but then some guy started a Clubbing Society for all the like-minded clubbers at the uni. Although they mostly go to Hard Trance events, it's still cool to meet some people who like the same music, as most of the people who go to my uni listen to rap/hip hop/R'n'B. That, or they just don't care what they listen to.
