Profile: Ronald van Gelderen (a.k.a. Kid Vicious) Ronald van Gelderen (1976) grew up in the Harbour City Rotterdam. This city is still his home base and also the place where all his productions have its origin. Ronald was already fascinated at a very young age by music and he started producing in 1997. In 1999 he made producing his full-time job. Ronald was inspired by Ferry Corsten (a.o. system F and Gouryella) and Robert Smit (a.o. Caveman), who give direction the label Tsunami together awith Purple Eye Entertainment. They introduced him to the producing business. Under Ferry's guidance Ronald released his first track "My X-Perience" in 1998 under the alias Formologic on the label Flammable Records. His second project became N-Fluence under which he produced ěSweet Substanceî. This track earned Ronald very good reviews within the trance scene and ěSweet Substanceî was picked up by the label of Paul Oakenfold 48K (Perfecto). Currently Ronald is working on the development of his Kid Vicious project. This has a slightly tougher sound than we are used from by him but still very cutting edge with strong melody structures. The first release under Kid Vicious name was "Paraphrase" and the follow-up single "Re-Form", with on the b-side a mix by DJ Tiesto, was also a very big clubhit. This track proved to be the right collaboration for Tiesto & Ronald to produce the ěSuburban Trainî hit for the DJ Tiesto act together and the single entered the UK single chart at #22. Ronald's club anthem release entitled "Konga" -this time released under the Van Gelderen acronym- proved to be another winner for Ronald, earning him further recognition as an upfront dance-producer. The follow-up single "Aftershock" has just been released and although not as large as the Konga track it is again a quality release, again finding it's appreciation from the various upfront DJ's. Furthermore Ronald is a very well known remixer and in his relatively short career he already belted quite some remix commissions for eg. Libra, Lakata Dream, to name a few. Ronald is also active as a international DJ under the Kid Vicious name and is being represented by DLP (Dave Lewis), also based in the Netherlands.
