Please read this: http://sflnc.com/index/readthis/news/last_call/128.html
I first heard about this on a local news station in the Bay area (KRON 4) a few weeks ago about someone on the SF board of supervisors working on a bill to extend last call to 4am (or 3am) for clubs with after-hour licenses...
Essentially what's going to hapepn is that the guy is working on getting the rest of the board to support him (which is looking pretty good) and then they are going to take the bill to state legislature...
Anyhow, the more support the better. A lot of clubs in California close EARRLLY compared to major clubs in other states, and it's largely in part because a good number of people's alcohol simply wears off and they lose the edge of the music they are having. (note: hardcore peeps like us aren't bothered by this, but 90% of the audiences out there are casual fellas/girls who aren't don't feel the need to stay just because of the music).
A lot of DJs have actually complained about the laws in California and how they don't really like to play here because they want to be able to play later, longer sets.
So this bill wouldn't be just for the clubber/music fans, but for the DJs too!!!

Supervisor Aaron Peskin's resolution calling for state legislation to extend last call hours was passed unanimously yesterday by the City Services Committee. It now goes to the full Board of Supervisors for vote on Tuesday, Feb. 10th. We still need your emails in support. Read more for the details: |
