the ipod.

i have this love and hate relationship with it.

love: listening to live sets on this baby. love the scroll wheel touch pad!!

hate: fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucking battery life

i am currently running a 20 gigabyte 3rd generation IPOD with 2.1 system software (the most current firmware i believe). as you may see, i did quite a bit of research on this topic. i have tried almost everything to prolong my battery life. this includes turning off the equalizer and backlight display. going to calendar-alarm-and changing BEEP to OFF. what else....updating the firmware and software i-Tunes.

so my question is...WHY THE HELL DO I WAKE UP AT 7 AM..ride the bus for what is it...10 minutes listening to my ipod....get out of class around 12:50 and ride the bus again listening to my ipod (mind you my battery is almost dead now)...at night before i charge i try to turn it on and its completely dead. only that low battery indicator flashes.

ive herad that an ipod turned off (in sleep mode) can last several days...over 4 days.

any suggestions why this may be ?
i hope its not a battery problem (as this happens to plenty of ipod users), so what can i do about this?

sorry for this rather lengthy post (but i have been researching this topic all afternoon)..

cheers!
Stassi
sounds like a battery problem to me
vadushka!!!
The IPod is an incredible step forward in music-on-the-go technology but I've heard it costs an arm & a leg for THEM to replace the battery.

maybe something's wrong with your i-pod.. have u asked anyone else who has an ipod if theyre experiencing the same problem ?

iPod's work best with songs which are less than 9 MB (Apple Support). Since live sets are larger than this, it has to access the disk quite a bit... hence the short battery life. I have the same problem with mine.

Take it back & get a new one, it's still under warranty. I have a 1st generation iPod, and I havent had any trouble with it. The battery lasted me from a flight to L.A., with no problems. :happy2:

doesn't work, too heavy, burned a whole in your pocket ( in both senses ), skin intolerant to electronic equipment. Threaten to sue and they'll bend over backwards
