Question For Anybody that Downloads MP3 Mixes

Question?

My mix that I just made last night is 83 min and something second’s.

Should I

a.Upload to the internet –full length
(That way you get the entire mix all song played all the way through.)

or

b.Cut the first and last 1 and a half minutes or so, to make the mix under 80 min’s.
-Also the cut would be during the first and last songs – just 12 songs in this mix.
(That way you have the option to convert mp3 to wav and burn on to a cd.)

What do you think?

For the people that are actually downloading mp3 mixes, do you usually keep the mix on your computer? Or do you convert and burn the mix on to a CD.

Anybody’s help would be nice, and Yes this mix is Trance….

i think you should just leave it the way it is mate.a set is always best left alone and untampered.if someone wants to burn it they can cut it up themselves.

leave it as is. I recorded a set last night and really wanted to get certain tracks in, it ended up 83 mins 27 seconds. I decided to try burning it unedited, and I got 83m 15sec on a cd, all i lost was a few seconds of a dull outro. There's always some overburn available, not sure if you can count on 3 mins every time though.

This has happened to me before. What I usually do is make 2 copies of the file: one for burning and one for sending ppl. online. I call one a CD Edit, that would be the one I cut down to fit on a CD, and the other I leave in its entirety.
I also leave the version I plan on burning to CD in WAV format, in order to preserve sound quality for promo CDs.

I'd say leave it at full length. A Marco V set that I downloaded wouldn't quite fit on 2 discs so I just broke it into 3 parts.

I agree with the other people here, leave it the full length. If people really like the mix and want to make a copy of it on cd, they can cut it the way they want. I think a lot of people just leave the sets on their pc's anyway. Also, with so many mp3 players out there, people may not need to cut it :D

What do you guys use to split the file?

Thanks

thanks guys for your help

I belong to global beatz.net

so I get up-tp 10 mixes to upload for the same price.

I think I'll put up both versions,

1- Full

2- CD edit

I cut my tracks with Acid Pro.

but I'm sure there's lots of different programs to do it in.

I just learned with Acid Pro and I'm pretty good at it so I'm sticking with it.

Try fading out during second breakdown of your last track ? Always work out well ;)

I use Sonic Foundrys Sound Forge, been using it for years :)
