what's the deal here? they have a category for every type of music except for dance/trance? that's f'ing bull. did anybody catch it last night? beyonce can take home 5 grammies and they can't devote just 1 category to trance? i mean dam at least nominate some of the more commercial songs like bt's somnambulist. That was getting major radio play over here and the grammies totally overlooked it not even 1 nomination. it just makes me sick what's going on here. its no wonder beyonce won so much considering she is ALL they play over here on both the radio and mtv. She was basically competing against herself. Its just getting ridiculous and so out of hand that there's so much good music out there going to waste and not being appreciated by award shows such as the grammies.

even if they did have dance, its hardly gonna be the trance we like

Yeah, it's lame. But what are you gonna do? It's America!
I'm actually sort of glad, it means less chances for the pristine EDM world and the grungy pop world to intermingle. Keep pop away from EDM and vice versa ;)
I guess the only way for and EDM producer to win under the current system is for "Best Remixed Recording" like Deep Dish did in 2002.

I don't want to see DJ Sammy, Lasgo, Milk Inc, etc. nominated for the grammys. That'd freak me out.

because its not big in the states at all.. having a best remix categorie is a big step itself..

oh jesus dont let corperate america get ahold of edm, cause with in years they will have it run to the ground, harrased, and dirty, look at hip hop:stongue: :stongue:

the way I see it, if the Grammy's had a dance category, they would be promoting the drug use that surrounds it.

As opposed to half the rap and hip hop song lyrics include...
Killing bitches, shooting, gangs, cocaine, raping etc etc
Jeez...i would hate to live in a world with happy and peaceful E users. Lets all become like America, listen to rap and hip hop and develop highest crime rates in the world..cool.

Peace Out

actually.. they do... 1 for best dance recording(solo, group, collaborative performances...vocal or instramental) pretty much covers anything that can be construed as dance music.... went to Kylie Minogue- Come Into My World
Dirty Vegas won last year, they don't understand what a culture dance music has...

Roger Sanchez won a grammy for his remix of No Doubt's "Hella Good" so there.

EDIT: Last Year

so what? i doubt it would make the music any better. I can't speak for other countries but americans who like edm REALLY like it. We (americans) had to go against the grain and find edm ourselves. that said, if you add the common american into the picture, producers will make music for the masses. feck that. i could be totally wrong tho considering the popularity in europe
