Another Reason for me to avoid AmericanAirlines

I am all for people having their own religious beliefs, however crazy they may seem. But I am very much against this type of behavior:

Christian question alarms flight

An American Airlines pilot terrified passengers on his flight when he asked Christians to identify themselves and went on to call non-Christians "crazy".

Some passengers on the flight from Los Angeles to New York were so worried they tried to call relatives on their mobile phones.

The pilot, whose name was not released, asked Christians on Friday's flight to raise their hands.

He then suggested non-Christians talk to the Christians about their faith.

He went on to say that "everyone who doesn't have their hand raised is crazy", passenger Amanda Nelligan told CBS news.

"He continued to say, 'Well, you have a choice: you can make this trip worthwhile, or you can sit back, read a book and watch the movie'," she said.

The pilot also told passengers he would be available for discussion at the end of the flight.

'Bizarre'

Ms Nelligan said passengers had thought the pilot's behaviour was "bizarre" and wondered whether his comments were a threat.

Flight attendants notified ground control.

American Airlines spokesman Tim Wagner said the incident was being investigated.

"It falls along the lines of a personal level of sharing that may not be appropriate for one of our employees to do while on the job," he added.

Add this into the mix with their "bistro meals" on 4 hour long dinner flights where you carry the damn sack lunch onto the airplane with you if you want food, and this is another straw beating on this squirrel's back.

Maybe next time you book a flight, you should make sure an Al Queda member is on. I'm sure you guys could talk about religion peacefully.

LOL @ Yoepus. :p

But yeah, it was an incredibly stupid thing to do, he should get severely reprimanded in my opinion.

Even better, get Bush to come on the plane and have him try to convince you of his Foreign and Domestic policy. I bet you will be jabbing your ear drums with complementary pretzel sticks by the end of the trip :toothless

I guess afer 10 minutes I'd turn around and go to sleep. Or stab that person with a knife. Depends on the mood.

Hmm. Probably the atheist. But when you contrast more militant atheists (i.e. - me :p) and fundamentalist Christians, especially the 'the Earth is flat & the world is 6000 years old' bunch, I think that the Christians win hands down.

This is my comedy repsonse when Christians try to talk to me about their ty stories "Jesus was a Jew. Jews didn't believe Jesus was the last prophet, thus blasphemy. Also his last supper wasn't Kosher!"

I really broke down a Christian who was in a wheelchair prompting his Chruch's teen/young adult get-together party this past Fall. I told him about Deism, and lets just say he was in SHOCK AND AWE!
