...taking a break from writing my term paper...listening to "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon...
Again, wow...thank you everybody who tuned in for being supportive, that really made my night/week/month!! :D Also, thanks for the feedback regarding my stuttering and 'uhm'-ing. I'll do my best to tone that down :). And yes, you can mark my words yet again: THE TRACKS YOU REQUESTED DURING LAST WEEK'S SHOW WILL BE PLAYEDON ELETROTOPIA'S FIRST OFFICIAL EPISODE THIS COMING TEUSDAY!!
you know, i kinda like this idea of asking for feedback on unsigned material...it's great to see what people think in real time...it's kinda like the DI forums, but with more personal interaction since it's totally live and you can call in with your comments, thoughts, and vents...
So, with that said: Starting on Teusday and each week thereafter, I will be debuting a brand new, never before heard, unsigned track by an upcoming or veteran EDM artist...and YOU get to decide if it's worthy enough to be signed to a record label. After the song is finished, call the WSJR hotline, post on the thread I'll put up, email me, call my cell, whatever, just tell me if you like it or not and why. Same thing will go if I play a mix CD. Whatcha think?
:toocool:
Srezic: Yes, I did mention that it was recorded. However, if you just want the Pappas mix cd, I can always snail mail a copy to you. I spoke with Mark earlier today and he said he'd be happy to give out his mix cd to anyone who likes it.
So that goes for anyone. If you liked Pappas' mix cd and would like a copy of your own, PM me your address and I'll be more than happy to mail it to you. Don't worry, I won't sell your addy to third party advertisers or blah blah blah. It will be totally discreet and classy, don't you worry.
Here's the upcoming schedule for ::ELECTROTOPIA::
February 24: The First Official Episode!! :D A wrap up of the best of 2003, a plethora of bangers for WMC 2004, a commentary (by me! :))regarding the unneccesarily large number of aliases a few EDM artists have, our second unsigned trial testing, and most importantly: YOUR REQUESTS!! :toothless
March 2: The Ode to James Holden!! Every track played WILL BE a Holden track. I will span his career, beginning from his epic trance Pulse State days to his already legendary and utterly beautiful tracks. This young man has a gained a following similar to an early Sasha, and his band of merry "Border Commies" is a true testament to that. This will be his story.
March 9: No show. Spring Break for me. WMC for you cooler cats.
March 16: These are THE BREAKS!! My education on breaks and drum 'n' bass. But I'll manage keep my sanity with some thoughtless, get-stupid-whereever-you-are, nasty and brutish techhouse and techtrance. Sort of like a musical homage to Thomas Hobbes ;)
So again, hope you tune in. Thanks again!! :toothless
oh!! and PS. Would you guys like another call from Ira Landau?? ;) |
