I think this song is masterfully crafted. It trully shows his legendary status and un-matching music craftmanship. He is truly the king... (of pop).

not only the king of pop but also the king of wackjobs!! :whip: :whip:

Micheal Jackson was good back in the days when he made Thriller and later on Bad and Smooth Criminal. I guess the spotlight just does crazy things to people who are already a little (an understatement in his case) eccentric.

It's baffling and a little sad to see a man who the world adored reduced to a the butt of so many jokes. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, far from it, because where the safety of childern are concerned, society can't really take a chance. No matter who you are - if you betray the trust of a child you definately need to be punished. Still, i'm sure a lot of things that happen to MJ are a result of him being MJ and stem from the fact that he is loaded.

Anyway, back to the music...which i can't say i've really heard much of since his "History" album. But if someone says that MJ is making good music, i'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. The man wasn't known as the king of pop for nothing.

I think Michael has done for the music industry what many artists can't. He has constantly stayed in the spotlight since the 70s and CAN STILL Dance and sing like it was 1979. I would like to see any other artists who is still able to perform they way they did since the beginning of their career. I Love Michael's music (I have not heard the last album, and I have heard history), altho I must say the 80s are Micheal's Highlite, however has still been able to produce music throughout this whole time.

However, I do believe he needs help. I think Having no Childhood has taken its toll on him. He thinks that he can make up for all the time he lost playing when he was a child by building an amusement park in his back yard and invite kids over every day. I think a few sessions with a psychiatrist wouldn't hurt.

I think one of the large mistakes he made was exposing his personal life to the media. Even though its good for your popularity, the modern media likes to disect pop starts for their "gossip". Unfortunately some stars pay the price, like Michael.

he's clearly a musical genius...he revolutionized music and videos...jeez, when the Thriller video came out, that was an *event*.

but...he's also living in his own sheltered world, surrounded by "yes men" that support his every thought and desire, no matter how wacky, out of touch, or inappropriate they might be. It's really sad. He's ed up and needs help...but who's going to tell "the King of Pop" that he needs help...and do you think he'd listen at this point? No.

He is the undisputed king of pop. He and Madonna shaped music like very few individuals have.
And there are some sick MJ remixes out there right now!

Back to topic though, I think Michael is a musical genius, and all round a great entertainer! I still watch his dancing closely and practice his moves into my own style (like I know MANY of you do). Like everyone else has mentioned, he IS the King of pop and forever shall be. Sure there are a few things that aren't quite right with the guy, but his childhood and life expreiences in a 'diiferent' reality have made him so. He IS a child at heart still, and is very naive... but I don't believe all the BS the media shells out, and all the lawsuits thrown against him that mysteriously occur right when he's releasing a new album or big event, what for I wonder? :conf: My best friend is the biggest MJ fan I know, and when we went to the big HMV downtown (333 yonge) to buy his new album ('Ones') the day it came out, they hadn't even brought them out yet!! They had to grab my friend a copy from the back!!! Thats just wrong...

As sad as it is, after this trial, wether the outcome is good or bad for michael, things will never be the same...
