did Scaiife really get fired from System? That's what I heard:conf: |

Actually he decided to leave as he felt he had a good run but did not want to get stale. More importantly, he left so he could focus more time on his studio productions and the start of his new company which produces sound scores for Television and movies.
No scandel.....just a smart business decision for him made by him.

yep...like many smart business men and women in music, many choose to broaden their horizons and look to production. his production company was involved with creating the track that was used in the Smirnoff "Are we Locked Inside" Pure Perfection commercial which was really slick! Can be a very lucrative profession if you can impress some big agencies with your early work!
you can view his reel here
to see what his company has been working on production wise.
But from what I hear...there was no firing. Just the need to dabble in some new things! |

after he left System I didn't think that he'd be residenting anymore .. why did he end up choosing to resume at Pulse anyway? won't that take away from his producing which was his original intention .. ?
just curious ..

No, because at Pulse he doesn't have to play for 8 hours or more like he use to. |

I dunno because now he has to play at tier clubs like System and Comfort Zone. I think system wanted some fresh new music because Mark is a really boring DJ IMO> |

What's the differnce betweeen 4 hours vs 8 hours??? It's double the time, therefore double the work. What do you think when Dj's get new records each week? DJ's have to listen to them all more than a few times to figure out what tracks work well together and to decide where and when would be a good time to put those tracks into their mix each week. Dj's have to know the songs they're gonna play in detail. For 4 hours it's about 40 records or so that they would have to work with (dj's bring more than that with them though because the set for the night always changes depending on mood and how the crowd reacts) and 8 hours can be anywhere between 70 to 100 records. Understand now??? It's time consuming!!!! |

What Form&Function said wasn't an assumption or a rumor. Mark Scaife told me the samething in person a few weeks after he left Systems. |
