Me needs an amplifier and studio monitors - but alas I won't be around....

For studio monitors I'm looking at Mackie HR824 or Mackie HR624.

L&M has the 624 listed on their site. I wonder what it will cost at the sale.

The 824 goes for about $700 US [$900 CAD] each. The 624 goes for about $500 US [$650 CAD] each. If anybody goes on Friday and sees the 624 for $400-ish + tax CAD - PLEASE let me know. I'll send a family member to buy a pair. I want to get a pair and spend no more than $1000.

Both the 824 and 624 have build in amplifiers so I could connect it right to my djm-600 - which would be sweet.

So please keep your eye out for me.

My brother recomended these over the Yamaha MSP10 series due the wider frequency response more appropriate to EDM style of music. After the Makie's he suggested the Yamaha MSP10 or Roland DS90 series. As last choice an "acitive" (built in amp) one could go with Yorkville YSM1p (although at that point it may be better to buy an amp and monitor as sperate units).

At last Long & McQuade sale I got a great 4 channel Stanton mixer
(demo) for $300. It was basically brand new.
