Seriously, the world is going topsy turvy. The states is nationally voting on gay marriages, and Canada just found out that almost it's entire government is corrupt. Sign of the end, for sure.

Why are you shocked? Governments have been abusing taxpayer money for decades in all countries, so this problem is not new and Chretien was behind it and a year from now, it will all be leaked to the press. Does not surprise me but still with this scandal, who else can form a majority gov't, not any other party, liberal landslide again. I blame Chretien more than Martin because he hated Martin and never told him that much, I do think Martin knows a bit more but I don't think he knew the full story.

Australia was a penal colony, we all know that. Canada was founded on British Rejects. United States was founded on religious nutcases. I mean every country has the weird things about their past, they would love to hide.

like you? ;)

nah I'm not corrupt

Anyone who has lived in Canada for the last 7 years knows the Chretien Gov'T broke the rules and there was nothing we could do about it. The billion dollar art funding program fiasco to the billion dollar gun registry, to this. Nothing surprises anymore in this country, we have leaders that continue to pull sneaky underhanded tricks yet none of the other parties can mount a challenge to a liberal gov't that has been in power since 1993 and I expect this to continue. At least we did something this time, by firing the denmark guy (our ambassador to denmark) and ordering him home within 3 weeks to answer the charges, I mean Chretien would have done nothing.

The French are cowards, you didn't know?

Both the NDP and the Conservatives are credible alternatives. It's time for Canadians to wake up and change things, especially people in Ontario, who tend to be ignorant of such things.

Ho hum, you might want to re-evaluate the American assertion, but otherwise Aus & Canada are disturbingly alike.

Ah well, we kick the Poms arse in everything else now, so i'm not complaining. :p

Paul Martin is on CBC Cross Country Check Up right now and answering questions regarding the matter of corruption.

Hmmm NDP = bleh

and the Conservatives, do you remember implementation of GST? guess which government put that in place. PC *ahem*

We have to wait for all the facts to come out on this. I really think Paul Martin is a much better leader than Chretein and its unfortunate that Martin has to take the heat for this.
