It's a shame there weren't more TA's present, at least that I knew. Ornadel tore things up!
Brought back memories of 3 years ago, when he played there on the Gatecrasher night, with Scott Bond and Tiesto.
First off, I came in at 11:30 pm, and the place was packed! Most of the people there at that time came for the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy party, with Kylie Minogue.
btw, I went to Virgin in Union Square earlier in the night, and the Fab Five were there, I guess promoting their soundtrack. There was a long line outside!
So after an opening act (I think it was Widelife, but I'm not sure) they came on the stage briefly to give thank-you's, then came Kylie. She did 5-6 songs (including a downtempo version of Locomotion), and the crowd was loving it. She said it was her first time performing in NYC, which I find hard to believe.
Seemed like many people left after Kylie finished, but then the floor filled up again soon after.
Also, unfortunately, there was no BT. Someone told me something about him cancelling at the last minute. I do wonder if he was booked in the first place though. If he did cancel, a sign saying so (and why) should've been posted.
Ornadel played 2-5 am. First half was lots of epic tracks, second half was harder.
Here's the little of the set that I recognized and remember:
Chicane feat Bryan Adams - Don't Give Up (Agnelli & Nelson remix)
PVD - Crush (some long remix that I hadn't heard before)
Mark Otten - Mushroom Therapy (sounded like Armin remix) - crowd went nuts over this!
Andain - Beautiful Things (Cor Fijneman remix)
Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes (Above & Beyond remix)
Ferry Corsten - Right of Way
Delerium vs. PVD - Silent Angel
The opening DJ came on afterwards and played for another hour before closing. |
