that's pretty much the belief that i've been having about religion for the past year or so..
the cops couldn't keep things calm so they decided to make this up about an eternal life (hell) if u dont obey these simple rules!!!

different religons define it diferently
according to catholic theology it is the union with god
hence you become a part of God
and hell is the absence of being with God, thus existing in a state of nothingness
purgatory is the inbetween stage when your soul is "cleansed" or made ready to become unified with God |

By Islamic law? You're supposed to go straight to hell, actually.
The "40 virgins for martyrdom" deal is for someone who is murdered for believing non-violently in Islam. The penalty for suicide in the Islamic religion (as far as I understand it) is damnation, but extremists use the argument that if they go to heaven after killing themselves for being a martyr, they aren't actually dying. |

i think in heaven, we are all going to exist as just souls, with no physical attributes, because there will be no prejudices in heaven. it's like a shallow hal type of thing. we all see the inside first...no outside.
and we'll just float around all day eating marshmellows and riding stars:D |
