ATRC on CSI : Miami

I know most of you (myself included) are sick to death of hearing about ATRC, but I just thought this was an interesting tidbit.
During CSI: Miami tonight, they played ATRC (Gabriel & Dresden's Chillout Mix) during the middle of the show.
I thought it was interesting how quickly this song has been able to permeate our pop culture; something that usually takes a very long time for any sort of EDM. Example: last week's episode of CSI: Miami opened with Chemical Brothers - Dig Your Own Hole, a great track, but pretty freaking old (came out in 1997).
Even though ATRC is played out as all hell, and some of you probably consider it pop at this point, I think this is just another case for why it deserved song of the year for 2003, if not more. |

| Yeah, i totally agree, exposure is exposure and on a great show like that why not,.. in our little world of obsessed tranceaddicts it is played out but none the less its a great song and I do agree that it should have been song of the year last year,... |

| And that show Las Vegas has Paul Oakenfold - Ready Steady Go. I thought it was cool to put it on the start of the show. |

| damn right the producers and editors got to get it right !! if you are going to play one of the best songs of 2003, then you have to play the right mix, which is the chillout mix. i am not really fond of the sweeping strings mix, the g&d original mix was all right, not as good as the chillout mix though. Now when CSI:new york comes out next season .. do you think they will play SOLID GLOBE - NORTH POLE OR SASHA - MAGNETIC NORTH, because new york is in the north side of the united states?? |

haha! so true!
Its funny how I will instantly pay attention to a movie with an EDM track i know. It doesnt matter how old the movie (or show) is or how old the song is, i'll immediately pay atention and respect that song.
Kindy goofy i know, but its the little exposure like this that helps keep our TA forums getting bigger and bigger as n00bs (or !:haha: ) come and sign on to figure out what "that song was"
makes u feel kinda elite to know what tracks are being played in mainstream tv shows and movies :tongue2 |

That's pretty cool, CSI seems to play some pretty good music now and then. Too bad I'm not into those whole hour long drama-type shows or whatever they're called. I'd much rather watch something like American Chopper. ;)
At least they played the Chillout Mix, that's my favorite as well. I wish G&D would do more chillout/ambient material. I wouldn't mind hearing an entire set or mix CD perhaps from them. |
