lots of companies make/made MD players/ recorders
Sharp
Kenwood
Panasonic
Aiwa
JVC
Pioneer
Denon
Onkyo
some of these dont make portables or recorders but they all have some type of MD unit or another.
i use a sony MD player myself,

I personally use a Sony MD.... NetMD... But, I've seen several DJ's use laptop computers to record their live sets... The quality is much higher and it can be recorded directly to a high-res MP3. When I record my sets on my laptop... I use Digital Performer 4, or Sound Studio.

I have found out a sharp md-dr480 or md-dr7 with an external mic and a bass filter was used. I am working on getting the filter and mic as i type this |
