| SampleTank is just a sampler. Yes, you can import aif files into most decent software. You will need more than just sampletank 2 to make a song. |

Before I got SampleTank 2.0 XL I thought the same thing but after using it this past weekend I feel confident I could make an entire track with just Sampletank. Their extensive 4.5GB library of sounds covers all the musical parts. Combined with a ton of effects and the usual sampling tools, and a "synth-sampler engine" for tweaking of the samples I think it's worth the high cost of this product.
One problem I did encounter was the loading of the samples is buggy. It happens intermittenly but Cubase will hang as I'm loading a sample forcing me to CTRL+ATL+DEL to exit. I might be a user-error because I spent all Sunday playing with it with no problems. |
