vinyl vs. cdr vs. cpu vs. whatever

it seems to me that this is a thread that has probably been brought up plenty of times. however, recent readings on the forum (pvd mixes on computers; where can i find this or that track) make me bring it up again.

1)seeing as how i am into the scene because of the music, i dont care how a dj mixes music.
2)it seems to me that the scene is goes against all sorts of traditions, and so it seems absurd to me that the vinyl only tradition is so ingrained.
3) i dont care how this person dresses when she is dancing, or even how she dances, so i definitely dont care how the dj is mixing songs.

now that said, just so i dotn get flamed for bringing up old, old topics, the only valid reason that one shoudl say vinyl above all else is sound quality (but you have to realize that at xxx decibils, minute degredation in sound quality is barely perceived). and i have heard people (genuine audiophiles from all genres of music, and not just electronic) say that vinyl really is best, even better than cd! so, who can give me a real explanation as to why vinyl is best (and not merely a 'it just sounds better' explanation).

Freak
And this is from a dj perspective- not a listeners:

Feel
Controlability
Hands on
sound quality
speed
Versatility
Reliability
Its a skill that can take many many years to develop
Its a physical piece of music in your hands- not just a disc containing data
It has a certain 'coolness' factor (for what its worth)
Its less boring playing vith vinyl than digital crap

The one single thing that lets it down is its weight and size when you have many- nothing else.

wierd sense of deja vu... im sure ive typed that on a thread somewhere before...
[EDIT}- links been posted above...
