| ok this is something stll confusin me. i think the best type of trance is when a tune goes along and builds up reaching a point where the tune goes mental and sounds awesome. examples are lightforce - join me, veracocha-carte blanche, faithless-insomnia. is this progressive or what?!?!im confused. can some1 direct me as 2 what type of music those 3 are and pleez gimme plenty more examples 2 download cos theyre gr8:) thanks |

| its all trance......but i would put it as Epic Trance i consider that the Melodic/uplifting style of trance....... but many songs capture many aspects of other styles ..so its hard to really locate a specific style that would fit those songs...but mostly its EPIC!! |

I consider veracocha one of the trax that stands for uplifting trance.....I love it...
BTW i saw faithless perform Insomnia live this summer.....OHHHHHH....that was great.......in the middle of the nite....and tons of light and stuff...."I cant get no sleep"....
Whole crowd strated jumpin.....Mmmmmmmmm |

epic is basically CLASSIC (or the best) uplifting or ANTHEM trance.
i think the word uplifting is a BS genre
its either anthem or melodic... or epic (remember, epic is just a really great anthem track)
the word progressive does not belong anywhere in the universe as this
example: anthemic = faithless, chicane, most "one-hit" wonders
melodic = most of pvd stuff
epic = most of ferry corsten's remixes and productions. not incl. soul on soul:rolleyes: |

What you're talking about is called EPIC trance. Or, Trance ANTHEMS. Both of these, I believe, refer to the same thing.
Uplifting -- at least in my opinion -- is a little different, trance can be uplifting but NOT epic/anthematic. It has the melody that makes you feel good, but lacks that punch that gives you goosebumps.
A lot of stuff that DJ Tiesto plays (used to play?) is uplifting, but not epic, I think. By contrast something like Armin - Communication is indeed epic. That's a fine example of an Anthem. |

| I Epic tunes to me are tunes that are Uplifting,melodic stuff with the break dfown and the build up are similar usually 2 breakdowns and buildups........ But yet there isnt any standard in Iding genres and labeling sub genres in trance....... so its almost impossible to really say whos right ...but i always considered Epic to be the melodic and Uplifting tunes..with the signature buildups and breakdowns |
