are colored/clear vinyls less susceptible to wearing out . . .?

I have a couple track pressed in clear/orange/white/blue [vinyl?] and im wondering if they wear out less . . . they really seem like theyre made of something more substantial than normal black vinyl, maybe some kind of heavier plastic . . . does anybody know what im talking about or have any more info on the subject?
I guess what im asking is are they made of the exact kind of material that conventional vinyl is made up of . . . |

actually, colored records are not made out of vinyl. If I remember correctly their quality was inferior to that of vinyl.

| wouldnt they be more susceptible coz they are inconsistent and contains additives, therefore not pure? |

| that sucks, some of my favorite tracks are pressed on color disks . . . for some reason i thought they felt stronger/heavier than normal vinyl . . . oh well . . .:sadgreen: |

Both Black & Colored vinyl are made out of Polyvinyl chloride. The only difference is the dye. So in theory, the quality is identical.
As far as pictures discs go, they do have qualty problems, they are made to be looked at (although you can play them). The picture is pressed near the surface of the record and less plastic is used on top of the overlay, which affects the quality of the recording.
