Okay --
I have had the opportunity to be at York yesterday, it was actually my portfolio interview date ( FOR THE JOINT DESIGN PROGRAM @ YORK & SHERIDAN! :) ) Anyways, in the information session all these people did is bash on two different subjects; PC’s (Windows) and a particular school which is to be located along McCaul street (OCAD).
What started to bother me was how confident he was that Apple Computers were the greatest things on earth, and he also said how we shouldn’t use any other OS platform unless we’re doing word processing and/or internet research… He was obviously deprived from a good PC as a child. When my portfolio interview comes, I had a short film on DVD and a couple of animations (Flash, .swf files on self playing mode) of course, we dragged ourselves to a ‘Mac’ in order to view these pieces, and I have never seen so many errors in my life… useless errors. The thing promises to be so simple, yet I don’t understand it. Within all this simplicity, things just begin to seem so intricate. This guy didn’t know how to open a file through the actual program itself (File > Open) so when the drag & drop didn’t work, he pretty much went running for the technician. On his way back I had managed to open all of the files for him and ready to play. With all the time we managed to waste in the beginning, he only saw a few seconds of my animation as well as my film (and unfortunately, the website which I’ve had could not work). But later on, he sorta took a quick scan on my other works' since we didn't have much time and all he said was "You're strong at this stuff!" I'm guessing everything went well with the interview (for those who are wondering) but the problem was truly, the damned fruit!

Hey man, congratulations on getting that interview for the BoD program. Only 110 (i believe) students per year. It's the med school of design. :eyes:
The whole arguement between PC & MAC is meaningless; an extension of the male ego pissin' wars lol. It's all about your visual communications skill! |

| MAc is only good for 2 things: video editing and graphic design. Other than that I find them totally useless. |
