Internet Music Downloading

ISP's are in court with people who want to come after people who are downloading music. If they come after you is there any excuses you can give if you just delete the MP3's off your computer ie. I had all the albums when I downloaded the songs, they were all fake, etc.
BTW does anyone know a program I can list directories with off the net like say I have http://www.webpage.com/something/so...gelse/image.jpg and I want to see what page it came from but just typing index.html doesn't work what can I use to see it? |

Well this issue does NOT associate itself with me, because I don't download "Mainstream" music. All I download is electronic music in general mostly trance. I'm not into Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, Rap, so they can search my computer all they want... |

In the US, music file swapping is illegal
In Canada, music uploading is illegal, music downloading is not.

why are you guilty of Uploading? ;)
i think you are basically screwed for uploading unless you can prove that you were uploading to yourself somewhere else and that you own the music. |

I don't share anything except for things on BitTorrent, how far back do the records they're getting go exactly?
Unless they track the other people down I can say I let my friends upload off of me. |

Haha. I'd just say I bought this computer used and it already had the files on it.

I'm sure that would work wonders if they didn't have records of the files coming from your internet connection so unless you get the internet connection used you're pretty much out of luck. |

There was something on CBC radio about this a few days ago. It sounded like they have the IP addresses of people in Canada on Kazaa who have 1000+ tunes available for upload. Judge to decide in March if ISPs will be ordered to identify the uploaders
