New Era In Irish Clubbing

Love Saturdays at Club Matrix lived up to its heady promises on Valentine’s Night as a capacity crowd turned up for the official opening party.
It was a phenomenal celebration with an electric atmosphere headlined by international DJ and producer Ferry Corsten, who also launched his new album ‘Right Of Way’.
Local hero and one of two LOVE Saturdays residents, DJ Chris Davis was given a raucous welcome at the new venue and duly delivered an outstanding set to his loyal fans.
Flying the Godskitchen banner was English DJ Jon O’Bir who hammered out an amazingly uplifting but tough hard dance set, which won the hearts of the new LOVE Saturdays crowd. It was down to Chris Davis again to round things off in the Indigo Room and the popular Larne DJ did so with aplomb. Of course they wanted more!
Offering a reprieve from the mentalism of the main Indigo Room, fellow LOVE Saturdays resident Ryan Maxwell was proving that he has most definitely got ‘the funk’. Warming up for a house music legend is no mean feat but he did it easily and with style. The main man, Marshall Jefferson, took over the decks around 11pm and quickly wooed the intimate Amber crew with some proper order house sounds. It was a musical dream for the pure house fans gathered.
And so this new era in Irish clubbing has begun in fine style, starting as phenomenally as it means to go on.
This week: DJing heavyweight Scot Project plays LOVE Saturdays, as the Extreme Euphoria Tour rolls into town. He’ll be supported by Mixmag future hero Gleave Dobbin, Jay Pidgeon and of course, Chris Davis. Meanwhile in the atmospheric Amber Room, celebrated house DJs and producers Inland Knights pick up where Marshall left off, accompanied by anchor DJ Ryan Maxwell.
