Fades in FL- HELP!!!!1

I posted this in another part of the site and need help. I'm using FL STudio Producer Edition and I'm really comfortable with it so far except for one HUGE problem- I can't for the life of me figure out how to fade sound in or out. For instance, say I have a normal 4-4 kick. I want it to fade in an maintain it's volume, not continue fading in everytime it replays the pattern. This is the simplest thing in the world in Acid and other programs but I just can't figure it out in FL. HELP!!!!

Same problem occurs with me. I usually just create one pattern and label it "Kick Intro" or whatnot, with the recording edited to make a kick fade, then I make a separate pattern as the basic kick.

If there's a way to do this while just using one pattern, yes, that would be quite efficient.

it's not any hard to get a kick fade in..
just have one pattern with the normal 4/4 kick

then take a new pattern and open the pianoroll and make the kick in it for how long you want it.. and then just change the velocity

The problem is that ur doing ur automation in the same pattern that ur notes are in, so the automation is triggered every time that pattern is played in the playlist.
What u need to do is put the automation in in the main automation pattern.

...or in any pattern you want.. ;)

the 'main automation' pattern is just normal pattern like all the other.

I'll put this a bit more simply: dedicate one pattern for automation ONLY.

I haven't used FL for a while now, but if I remember correctly this is actually pretty well covered in the manual...

...gosh I sound like dbl when I say that...

excatly ..... just change the velocity bars to gradually raise with each kick. You have to experiment w/ it a little to get the sound ur looking 4.

That's not the way I do it. I use a new pattern for every new automation I want. Gives me more control of things imo. But each to their own I guess.

By faintly advising people to use their brain and do some research before posting.

It's a Scandinavian thing, I guess.

"Don't say anything unless you are most certain that you've thoroughly considered all of the fundamental aspects related to your problem, and have made sure that no reasonable solutions are available by other means than asking a fellow." :haha:
