Hey, Im putting this track out for critisim because its the first track Ive made in a while that is over 20 seconds.

Its clipping at a few points, I havent been bothered to sort that out yet. Also my soundcard doesnt have a headphone jack (Audiophile 24/96 or something) So I have to run the audio into a Tape deck Amp, Ive kept everything on '0' but Im not sure, It may have an eq curve built in.:( which is no good.
Ive been told the kick is too low, where as I hear it too hard. I think the highs on the hats are too harsh too.

All types of comments please, rip me apart.

(its not really a trance track, more house, actualy I dunno)
hey cheggy
Okay, first of all, I would say try and make changes every 32 beats. The first change happens after 16.

Sounds really solid. Its very tech-trancy, which is cool, I'm quite impressed considering you're only new to this.

The sounds quality is quite average at time though, so maybe go have a look through it and see if its clipping. Sounds like some monitors are next on your agenda ay. Overall eq is okay, although a little lacking in the mids-highs.

Overall I'd say this is a nice track. Nice and short, you didn't drag it on, and I actually enjoyed listening to it.

I totaly agree about bringing stuff in at 32 beats, I remember bringing in stuff alot earlier than maybe I should have because the percussion sounded on its own and once I did the automation I couldnt be botherd moving things along, ah well. But yeah it needs better formation in that respect.

I can fix the clipping in a jiffy, but did you mean anything else by 'The sounds quality is quite average at times though', id like to know.

I think the hats need positioning better too

Thanks for your comments, nice to hear you enjoyed it :eyespop:
hey cheggy
Never mind, I realise I had the gain on winamp up a little bit which probably pushed everything past clipping a few times. Sounds okay now that I listen to it again.

a bit more percussion would make the track stand out a bit more though.

hummm........I guess I should of remixed a well know tune, that way I could have more replys now.:toothless

But seriously, 37 views?
If you think the track is , post that, I want any kind of feedback.

Nice thumpy beats, sweet lead, nice EQ. What samples/software you use? What did you use for the lead, low-pass, etc?
Damie Mckeown
I only did a little bit of Eq'ing which is weird, Less must be more. I usually spend ages on it till it sounds less pro than it did before I touched it.

I made the Kick in cool edit by tailing two different kicks together and stuff like that.
all the synth stuff was made with the Standard Logic Instruments, I mapped all the percussion in the Esx24 sampler, and compressed the lot together, I did want to eq them individualy but it has its limitations.

I like it when ppl say nice Eqing when I hardly eq and when I spend hours eqing I normaly get the reply 'Needs more Eq':D

I like it dude, but most of the people on this board don't really like this style of trance. There's a couple of good old posts with tech trance in it, that barely got any replies. But Cheggy's replies count for 30 so be happy ! :D

You know, posting stuff like "I know the levels are messed up and it's clipping but I posted it anyway" isn't exactly encouraging the listeners to come rushing in.
