ive been here in new york for aabout 3 years now, and i have been dissapointed by the local scene. sure, pvd, tiesto, armin, and everybody else stops by a couple times a year, but as far as a weekly goes, i havent found anything too solid (especially with trance).
but now i am looking at the saturday night schedule at soundfactory (which apparently went through some sort of restructuring; something i dont know anything about), and it looks solid enough. marco v was there last week. george acosta this week. cor fijneman in early march. now whether or not you like those specific djs, you have to admit that they are making an effort to bring world class trance to new york. i think thats cool. |

i don't think that its because they necessarily want to bring great trance to NY, i just think its because its the only opportunity they have of survival.
since JP left (whether you like him or not, he defined the crowd at SF), they have to find another niche to grab, cause Black is opening up. personally i like who SF is bringing in, but it will never go to how packed it was when they had a resident |
