they must have bought the rights because they liked it so much and wanted it to appear as their own production?

Nope, that was Y.O.M.C. H&H's remix was released as just that, a remix. |

Does that even exist? Cos according to both Discogs and H&H's own site, it doesn't. It does however say this:
