What do you use for percussion in cubase?

What programs and techniques do you guy's use for percussion in Cubase, and do you use the Key Editor (piano roll)? Or something else?
hey cheggy
I use redrum and then bring all my perc loops into cubase. I've tried using Halion and using the piano roll, but I don't like it. In FL, you left click to draw and right click to erase but if you put it in the wrong spot in Cubase, its a pain in the ass, you have to use a different tool to draw, move and erase, which really got on my nerves.

Cheggy thats exactly what pisses me off!!! my godd its horrible, everytime I missplace a damn note I gota click a dif. tool and delete it, you use Redrum rewired off of reason if im correct?... I hear it's pretty complicated rewiring and getting everything right with reason into cubase and all..... is there any other methods that I can use?... BTW can you PM me handle that I can contact you with thx.:o
Atma
I use Battery for my Percussion and I make my drum patterns with Cubase's Drum Editor. I hardly ever use the eraser since it just wastes time so instead of chainging over to the eraser when I make a mistake, I just hit good old Ctrl+Z.

I was going to say the same thing as Atma. As long as your mistake "note" is still high-lighted (blackened), all you have to do is press the "delete" key. I use the DR008 (VST) for my drumming needs.

nice interface and eat lots of CPU :) What else do you want? :D

cubase has some annoying bits about it, I found the work around to the piano roll problem though - click back on the note your wanting to delete and it should highlight and be deleteable. Sometimes it creates two notes though and thats when you are allowed to say various swear words.

I like to use Battery. It has some really good effects (volume envelope for example) and then I just click the data into cubase's own drum map. Fair and simple. when creating drum patterns you can erase your notes with the same *magic* wand tool too..

Rewire is more hastle than the Piano roll. Have you ever tried rewiring Rebirth into Cubase, MY GOD, what a bitch. Thank god for ABL now. If you attempted to shut cubase before rebirth by accident, your computer freezes and the rebirth file becomes corrupt. I don't bother with using it in Reason either cos i can't change anything in reason, it plays silly buggers.

I export my percussion loops to audio and then import them in cubase. Becasue I make a lot of techno, I have heaps of loops for perc in a folder so when making a track, I can mix and match loops.

p.s. what's a handle? i don't really use MSN or anything. i can PM you my email, I check it every few days, but if you PM me, I will respond quick. I'm normally hear briefly every day.

And yeah, Ctrl Z is the best option if you stuff up, but nothing beats the 909 style pads for doing perc. I would love it if Redrum was VST
