OK so i cant get TTs cuz i dont get to buy vinyl here, and i cant get cd players cuz they are too expensive here as well. So i thought of goin for a dual cd player, since i get to save a lot, and since this probably wont go out of the bedroom!

so before i let any cash out, and waste everythin ive saved, do u think i should go for the denon dn-d9000? im pretty confused over this because of the 0.1% increments problem.. do u think it'd do good for trance?

basically, wth should i do? i have 2000USD to spend on equipment, including new headphones and a mixer..

thanks :D

Why are you only limiting yourself to what you can buy where you are?

Make an eBayUK account, because most US sellers prefer not to ship international. You can buy a good pair of Technics for cheap. I bought a pair of Technics SL-1210 mk2 for $660. I dont expect most people to spend more that $750 on a pair of nice Tech's.

Mixer wise, there is a wide variety you can choose to go with, my suggestion is the Vestax PCV-275 - alot of people here have it and praise it. Cost @ $440.

Carts for your turntables, I suggest Whitelabels or Ortofons. Both sell for around $200 a pair.

Headphones are all about preference, I dont suggest you get Sony's, Ive read reviews that they crackle, the sound isnt great, and my personal experience is that they are poorly crafted. My suggestions are Pioneer HDJ-1000 ($140) (these are tops), Sennheiser HD-280 ($99), Technics RP-DJ1200 ($90) (i havent heard anything bad about them, so im listing them), Stanton DJ-PRO-2000 ($90)...

So lets say you get all this stuff, $2000 - (750+440+200+140) = $470

You can take that $470 and buy whatever extras you need, mainly the vinyl you would like to spin. Lets say you spend $170 on vinyl, your left with $300, take that $300 and put it in the bank or something and save it along with any other money you might be making. Use that for future upgrades/additions or more vinyl.

Most of us dont physically go to DJ shops to buy vinyl, in some cases we do if it is in the vicinity. I usually go to Only-DJs to scout and listen to new tracks that are out. I will usually buy from Chemical Records.

Hope this helps. If your still convinced on getting a dual CD deck, the Denon DND9000 is as good as you could probably get.

yeah, the dn-9000 is pretty much da bomb. i wouldnt worry too much about the whole .1% thing. i think people bitch way too much about it. it would be nice to have more precise pitch adjustment but its not as bad as people make it out to be, especially if your just starting out.

you should look and see if you can get your hands on the dn-2600f. it was their top of the line cd deck before the 9000 came out. its got everything you'll ever need, looping, key adjust, some effects, a sampler.... and its gonna be cheaper than 9000.

if you found the 2600f, and got the denon x-400 mixer and some nice headphones you would be set for around $1200 USD.

thanks for the suggestions man, that would've definitely been my plan if i live in the UK, the technics TTs, the vestax mixer, and the technics 1200 headphones... HOWEVER, shipping costs and customs are a pain in syria! the things that u added up are actually worth $3000 with all the extras... and about vinyl, i can never order, because of these costs, which may be twice as expensive as the record its self!

so i was thinking id get cd players because i can get the music from lebanon , and that is way cheaper to ship to syria...
Vlad
Well that really sucks... sucks big time... Im sorry to hear that.

Have you looked at the PCV-275 ?

well ill be gettin my stuff from dubai, and its unlikely that they'd have vestax mixers. the pcv-275 would be my first pick if its available there, even if it costs up to $480. The main problem ill be facing is availability, so its good to have several models in mind. i heard from a friend that theyve got lots of numark and pios there. since the dn9000 has lots of effects, i dont really need effects on the mixer, tho ill need a 3 band equalizer with kill switches, wouldn't mind if it had 2-3 channels, dont care bout BPM, and umm a good build and decent big knobs :)

if u have ne recommendations please post'em up!

thank you and sorry for askin too many questions!

the numark dxm06 has 3 band eq and kills, plus some effects too. its probably half the price of the pcv-275

i have a denon dual cd player (dn 2100f) and for the 0.1 pitch thing i can tell you that there´s no problem with that at all since you have the pitch bend buttons, a jog wheel that can be used also as pitch bend, and you can change the pitch without changing the key...
