Have any of you heard the trade rumors of Clinton Portis to the Redskins for Champ Bailey and a 2004 draft pick?
I swear to god if this trade happens there's gonna be consequences, and they aren't gonna be pretty.
I'm a huge Broncos fan and this is gonna ruin their offense, sure their defense will get better, but it's Clinton Portis. [/end angry rant] |

I absolutley agree. Very rarely do you find an All-Pro caliber RB. Clinton Portis has been a stud since day one in Denver. I don't see the rational in trading him now. He's still in infancy of his career and his many big seasons ahead of him especially in Mike Shanahan's offensive scheme.
I know there defense will get better with the acquisition of Bailey but I don't see him being happy. He wants to be traded to a team close to his Atlanta home or to Detroit so he can be with his brother. Denver does not fill any of that criteria for him. Who's to say that he won't ask to be traded again once he realizes he's unhappy again.
Just my two cents. |

| He probably will want to get traded again after being in Washington for a year. Anyways he's kinda happy here, he love the community, sports scene and the media. He's just pissed off cause he's only getting 300K a year, he should be pissed off. |

ESPN.com reports the trade has been agreed to in princible. Hell if I was a bronco's fan I'd be estatic. Its much more difficult to find an all world corner like champ then an all world rb(see your own team having 3 diffrent 1500+ rushers in the last 4 years). In quinten Griffins one start he ran for 136, I don't know that he can do it for a whole season, but you guys will be fine.
OT: Jamal Lewis got indited for conspiracy to distribute coke. Just thought everyone should know. |

| If Jamal Lewis can't play, the Ravens are screwed. He was the only offensive threat they had last season. Todd Heap is good, but there is only so much he can do especially with the QB situation they have. |

Sure Champ is an excellent corner and we'd be happy to have him, but Clinton is the Broncos running back, they got rid of Oladis last year, Mike Anderson wants out and Quintin Griffen is still technically a rookie. BTW that 136 yards was against an unprepared overly cocky Indianopolis defense.
In regards to the Ravens it's about time they get some bad press, at one point they were like the Patriots, everyone loved them. I dispise both teams so any bad news is good news for me.:haha:
So their offense is gonna suck but they got that "world class defense". |

He's only just been indited so he's probably not gonna miss the next season anyways.
Quintin Griffin may have balled vs the colts, but he still can be a hell of a back in my opinion. and even if he's not you guys are getting a 2nd round pick so you can pick up a good back in the draft. |

Although I think Portis is a hell of a running back, if I was a Bronco's fan I'd be happy as hell right now. I'd give up an All-Pro Running Back for the best corner in the game in a heartbeat.
The Redskins are so dumb it's hysterical. Well, I should say Snyder is a retard, not the Redskins as a whole. They had Stephen Davis and let him go, now they trade away their best player to get another RB. Griffin will give them 1000 yards with that sort of line. Even if he doesn't work out, there's always RB's available in the late rounds of the draft that end up outgaining the first rounders. |

As I stated earlier, I'm not completely pissed that he is NOW a Bronco and Portis a Redskin (Even though the trade hasn't been passed by the league it's a forgone conclusion, saw Champ at the nuggets game tonight). I guess I'm just wishing they got a first round pick, instead of a second, cause in my eyes if portis can last at least ten years in the league he is definately hall of fame bound. Ohh well I guess it's time to stop dewelling and get over it.:( |

| Denver can plug any RB into the backfield and produce a 1,400 yard rusher, their dirty ass offensive lineman can assure you of that. Can anyone say Chop-Block. |

Portis wont last 10 years. He hasnt even gone through a full season healthy yet. Another reason its a hell of a trade for the broncos. Besides there will be good rbs available in the second round anyways. |
