I would say there no more wrong with weed than there is with alcohol. But, down here at least, I find it is an underestimated drug. I enjoyed using it regularly myself until a few months ago, now I've cut down drastically. But I've seen enough people their futures up with weed to say there is NOTHING wrong with it. It's a drug, so there's always the potential for abuse. |

Yes, some people do take it to the extreme and start smoking like 10 joints a day. It really makes them lazy and dull. As for trying weed, well, not a very interesting experience if you ask me. |

I love Mary Jane.
If you don't smoke, you're simply missing out. |

weed makes you stupid. more so than E, more so than Coke (im not talking about while you are using). Over the long run it affects short term memory and adaptive learning. As far back as the 2001 science conferences on drug use in cali and europe weed has been categorized as an evil that supercedes that of much harder drugs.
personally, I love weed. but after close to 10 years of smoking, it kinda sucks to walk to the store, forget your wallet, walk back, get the wallet, walk back to the store, open the wallet, see that I forgot to put my bank card in the wallet
but i dont think I will stop until I have kids, i dont wanna be forgeting my kid at the mall or something like that. :D
oh and it doesnt make your dick smaller, I have scientific method approved measurements :D so i dunno what that kid was talkin bout on page 1 |

My driving skills don't suffer, but I'm just not as cautious when I'm stoned, because I just don't give a . A lot of my friends' driving actually imrpoves when they're stoned, in that they're much more cautious. |

| It settles like glue in your brain and after a while makes you slower... I'll probably only try once or twice, maybe! |

If a person only smokes weed 1 time or 2 times a week, there are little to no side-effects in the short and long term. The only real danger comes when people start abusing it. I doesn't make you stupid if you smoke very rarely, it doesn't make you not shower or become slow or make your teeth bad or whatever you want to say about it. In the studies of car accidents where there was weed involved, the scientist decided to leave out how many of those cases (people) were using other substances as well, for example alcohol. I went to the best high school in Oklahoma. I can say about 75% of my IB (like AP only harder) senior class in high school smoked weed. Even with that, we had a 98-99% graduation rate, around a 90% University acceptance rate, and basically the best scores on the standardized tests.
Weed is not chemically addicting, even though, as I have heard (never smoked weed before) it gives sort of a mental addiction in any case when you aren't smoking it you want to be, un-like coke or heroin or the harder drugs.
I went to a marijuana forum in Oklahoma City and was appalled at how the students there knew nothing on the subject. All they said is it was bad and you shouldn't do it. Also, the horror stories of some children whose parents took weed left alot to be thought about. For example, a girl said her mom beat her and did all of these horrible things, but at the start of her speech she said how she used to walk into her mothers room and see a plethera of drugs (speed, coke, heroin, MDMA, etc...) spralled out on the bed. Of course those drugs couldn't have had effects, oh no, of course not, it was just the weed.
But I'm tired of people just saying it makes you stupid. If it is taken in moderation, I re-itterate, there are little to no long-term or short-term effects. Food without moderation can also be hazardous to the health when not taken in moderation. An obese person has a much higher chance of a heart attack. When you step into your car and drive off, you might never come home because someone decided to drive as fast as possible and lost control over their vehicle and smashed into you head on. Medication taken without moderation can also be harmful. Take a whole bottle of aspirin at one time and see how you feel. |

Personally even when I was only smoking a couple of times a week, I did notice some subtle effects. Just a slight increase in general dopeyness, and slightly decreased motivation. That was enough for me to decide to cut down even further. About a month down the track I didn't feel any side effects. Personally I think taking any drug is a learning experience, because it forces open certain facets of your personality that you didn't even know were there and get to know them. I know a lot of guys that were shy and quiet, then they took eccies a couple of times and ever since they've been all flambouyant and extroverted, the experience of having their inhibitions lowered forcefully by the drug made them realise that they have an outgoing personality inside them. |
