has anyone noticed everything got faster??? i went to the sympatico site but i don't see any official postings about it... anyone know what's going on?
my uploads are now going 70k/s and downloads are going 250k/s... |

| i think i'm getting ultra edition for free... cause i just realized my download/upload speed is 2x faster now... but i've also been getting more speed at regular (non-school) home too... weird... |

| Bell announced several months ago, regular sympatico users will have there speed bumped to 3mbps and the upload bumped to 640 or something like that. 3mps will now get 4mbps, the fees have not changed. |

| just asked a sympatico technical support person about the 3mb change, he said yes they were switching over, but the upgrade has not been completed in all areas as of yet |

Maintenance and Enhancements: High Speed and DSL
High Speed and Ultra speed enhancements coming in 2004
Great News! On December 16, 2003, Bell Canada announced that speed enhancements and performance improvements will be made in early 2004 to both the Bell Sympatico High Speed service and Sympatico High Speed Ultra service. These enhancements mean even more enjoyment with faster downloads so you can do more in less time, and unmatched upload performance enabling you to optimize your Internet experience. The price for the enhanced service will not change for our customers.
How does this affect me?
We will be doubling the download speed of Sympatico High Speed service and improving upload performance by five times. Our customers will enjoy speeds up to 3 Mbps download and up to 800 Kbps upload.
Customers who subscribe to the Sympatico High Speed Ultra service will also enjoy an increase in speed and performance. The download speed will increase from 3 Mbps to up to 4 Mbps, and the upload speed will increase from 320 kbps to 800kbps. That's the best upload performance in this category.
When will these changes occur?
These enhancements will occur during the first few months of 2004. Customers should be enjoying these new speeds by the end of March.
Who will this affect?
Sympatico High Speed customers and Sympatico High Speed Ultra customers in Ontario and Quebec.
How will these improvements affect my Internet experience?
More than half of our customers use the Internet for instant messaging, online games and sharing digital photos - all activities where speed in both directions matters. By increasing our download speed and upload performance, we give our customers a much larger door to the Internet and all it has to offer. This includes great value added content that is offered exclusively to our high speed customers at www.sympatico.ca.
How does the Sympatico service compare to Internet service offered through cable technology?
Bell's high speed connections are provided to our customers through a dedicated line and are not shared among users. This provides for greater consistency of speed regardless of the time of day.

i just spoke to someone at bell who is helping me sort out my problems...and they said that i may just recieve the 3mb upgrade cause im with 4km from their office. so that means, everybody who is outside of 4km, will not actually revieve that speed increase.
it will be an increase, but not as much as they claim:whip: :whip: :whip:
