I have the Blue DJ ortofon carts n I was wondering when replacing the stylus do I need to get the same colourd 1 or could I get a dearer models. |

dunno but i use a blue stylus on a silver cart. they didnt sell any more of the normal silver stylus is use so i just got a blue stylus with "dj" on it (looks though) and it works |

As far as I know all of the stylus are interchangable and the thing that is different with the cart itself in most cases (appart from the odd frequency) is the angle of it.
You might not acheive the same quality as if you were using it with the correct cart though.

The only difference in sound quality with Ortofon Concorde/OM is the stylus. It's that that determines the sound of the whole. The cartridge itself is the same for whole the range, the only thing that differs there is the paint job. So yes, if you put a Nightclub stylus on a "Pro S" cartridge, you will have the same specs as if you would have a "full" Nightclub set. So no loss of quality if you don't "match" models.
And if anyone wants to argue, it has been confirmed by a Ortofon representative. |
