serious problem here guys.....
i got 2 decks stanton str8-80 but i have a problem of needle skating on a few records, now since this turntable got no anti-skating option like the 1200s i have no solution for this, i tried like all the weight possibilities too...
i use groovemaster RM2 on one deck and the classic sk on the other.

plz help me in any way im kinda desperate regarding it

thx!

do both differant carts skip? or is it just one?

not having skate control should not be a problem as you should never have it above 0 if you are using your decks for Dj'ing.

it could be the way you have set up the sk's but the groovemasters shouldnt be like that but you could try "wigleing" the stylus. its helped me in the past
clubsolutely
BOTH :(

and what you mean by wigleing the stylus?
dukes
both is bad :(

u know how styli are replacable and that the sltyli can be removed from the actual cart...

wiggle the styli just to position it better

hmm hard to explain really but either way i dont recon it would help if its both.

i just thought tho are the carts brand spanking new? if so they will need broken in. means they need playing time to get them working effectively altho im not really sure why. i had the same problem with my i-tracks for a start but now they hug really well. basicly it means put up with it and it sorts itself out. and if they are new then you wont need to wiggle the styli.

unless they aint new then there is a differant problem and i will have to re-think for you.
clubsolutely
re-think plz :p

hmmm i take it that means they aint new.....
i was really hopin they were new coz it makes life easier.
i take it the decks are new then otherwise you have had this problem for ages?

this really is a tough one.

ok when you say "skating" can you explain waht exactly is happening.
as in whats happening when you cue back/forward playing normal and anything else.
i might be able to help but i realy would like to know what exactly is hapening as skipage is very common and has many differant reasons.

the needle is reaching exact spot on the vinyl that it jumps back and loops over again and again..
razzi
on the same vinyl? it may just be that your vinyl has a flaw or something.

i have stanton str8-80s with the 520 sk on each, and no such problem..

try to be a bit more specific about the problem so everyone here can try to analyze it a bit more too :)

a good thing to do is take apart everything. take off the counter weight, take off the headshell, cart and stylus. and then clean them, and then put them back on. sometimes a TT just needs some love

im actualy quite confused by this problem! :conf:

the only thing i can think of (if its not just the record and the carts are fine) is that there is possably something blocking the movement of the tone arm. this could mean taking the decks apart which i would not recomend unless you are confident enough. its about the only thing i can think of. if its not that then it could be the internals of the tone arm mounting which means.....broke :(
