So i saw this movie on the weekend and i must say i thought it was well done.

I just dont like the fact that the movie was on even before it had a chance to make it to the big screen.

Mother Mary played an excellent part. Jesus too. Excellent acting. Too bad the movie carried too much baggage along with it.

Watch the movie. Its no picture of the year but IT IS an excellent film!

make sure you have a strong stomach, not to spoil this for everyone, but just to warn them...

the movie is 126 minutes long, and for a good 1/2 hour, there is pure torture, jesus getting whipped, beaten, spit on, kicked punched in the face...
Gibson really wanted to show how he thought christ suffered during this time...

it is a torture segment like nothing you have ever seen,

i watch many horror movies, and they can't even touch the amount of blood and graphic violence that 'the passion' contains...

Horrible horrible movie.

I am so dissapointed. I guess they were trying to make us feel bad for Jesus by increasing the brutality of torture.

Oh and don't give me this crap about "it really happend". Do you want to see a movie about Paul Bernardo in graphic detail? I doubt it.

I downloaded this movie, but I just don't feel like watching it after all the reviews that I've read.

Hmm, I'm really looking forward to see this one, despite all the crap that has been spilled on this movie before it even came out.

You'll understand what I'm saying after you see the movie.

well bernardo is some irrelavent pervert while christ if you believe in him is our saviour which is a HUGE difference, don't be dumb and make such comparisons, it should be obvious that (at least one of the things) the movie tries to do is make believers or maybe even non believers more appreciating by witnessing the GRAVITY of his sacrifice; its one thing to read that he got a beating and then was crucified, its another thing to actually see it administered, i mean if you had trouble watching that, what about him, he had to endure that

I'm not drawing a comparison between Jesus and Bernardo. Can you read?

I'm mearly stating that when I said to other people that I didn't like the movie because of extreme pointless violence, they replied, "but it really happend! It's history!". I would then reply that if a movie about Paul Bernardo were to be made in graphic detail, that really happend too, but you wouldn't want to see that now would you?
Boy trance
I understand what you mean Highroller (albeit I dont agree), but a better example should've been made.

I saw the movie, and I enjoyed it. I appreciate what Mel was trying to do, and don't know why some of the Jewish community is making such a big fuss about it. Although I was quite torn with my opinion for about a day afterwards, and there were minor differences in how things happened in the movie, and what my religion believes. All that aside, the actors did a TERRIFIC job, the music was great, and the cinematography (although a lil TOO braveheart-ish in the first 15mins) was great...

GO SEE.
