Hey, me and my fiancee are flying into LA on April 22nd and leaving the 25th. I got free tickets as a promotional offer when I bought her ring. I'm from Atlanta but I'm not some country bumpkin.
Does anyone know anything cool going on? Doesn't have to be a DJ or a special club night. Just anything. I'm willing to do the tourist thing.
I've always wanted to see a show being taped. I thought that might be cool to do during the day. Any events or concerts anyone know of going on that weekend? What clubs are worth checking out? Restaurants? Are beaches nearby? I don't wanna go to Venice Beach. I've been there before and wasn't that impressed. Reminded me of my college town with an ocean.
Where do the young people go? I'm 24, she's 23.
What hotel should I stay at? In about the $60-$120 per night range. I wanna be close to the action but in a nice place. From what I can tell, LA is pretty spread out. And I don't want to be any place shady.
Should I rent a car? Are cabs expensive, hard to find, worth it?
Any help is greatly appreciated!! |

i don't really know about hotels but its not hard to find one here. many of them tho have rates by the hour :p
as to stuff to do, Spundae has big events at Circus Disco every sat. night.
www.spundae.com
as to shows being taped, there are lots of those that happen here. you could try to go on a tour of some of the film studios. I know you can try to get tickets to the Craig Kilborne or Jay Leno shows. i think they even give them away for free if you call them up orsomething. i think they have a fone number you can call after the shows. or you can go to the nbc or cbs websites and try to get some info.
there are tons of bars and clubs to go to here. its hard to not find somethign to do. :) |

| to answer one of your questions, yes, rent a car. in LA you are just about totally screwed without a car. |

unless you wanna be responsible and get completly hammered and don't mind spending the 40 bones (per each trip) on a taxi ride |

How about the "ON AIR with RYAN SEACREST?" taping? It's at Hollywood and Highland so can u go to that and see the whole Mann's Chinese Theater and all that cool stuff. And its a young crowd??
I advise staying in the heart of Hollywood just because that's where most likely you'll end up clubbing and doing all your touristy things.
Anything off Sunset/Hollywood Blvd sounds pretty good?
As for clubs, Spundae/Avalon on Saturdays is a given for your Electronica needs. If your GF likes bar hopping, just try Sunset Blvd strip that includes bars like: Dublins, Miyagis, SaddleRanch, The Standard, etc...
Anything in LA is about 20-25 minutes away due to traffic which isn't bad at all.
good luck! |
