I bought the album expecting something original & fresh, but his lyrics were wack, couldnt flow, and my expectations of his beats on this album were through the roof, but his album didnt deliver that!
I didnt like the sped-up vocals on EVERY track! Its good once in a while, but he was beating a dead horse w/ that.
Overall: Give me my $10 back Co*k-a-fella! |

i have the new album, but i think its a little skit heavy to be very very excellent. as for his rhyming, i think his producing really benefits the verse. strictly speaking, he might not be the fastest or the most technically proficient (however you determine that) - but i think his inflection, cleverness and knowledge of the beats really elevates his ability.| quote: | Good morning to Chi-Town, where my niggaz ride down

AND kanye is a producer, he could edit his verses to sound better than he actually is - only to blow it live, read: 50 cent, or about any other pop-rap group live. if he isnt trying to pretend to be better than he is how can you not love that?
i do think that the album succeeds in carrying a theme without resorting to trite measures - and without elaborate storytelling. storytelling can be hot, but not necessarily for people who have never heard the song before, which is why some underground groups never elevate| |

Main Source? Ingredients...quality album with top joints like fakin the funk
nobody is doubting his lyrics and MCing skills aren't exactly up to par...but HE'S A PRODUCER...producers aren't supposed to be lyrical geniouses or great MCs are they? Dr. Dre wasn't a great MC yet do you hear people calling him whack for lacking in the lyrical department? no
and next time please understand the definition of "opinions" whatever the hell you think may not be the same as what other people think...if people dig College Dropout and you don't you think you can change their minds on it by calling it whack?

i love hip hop, and just cause i dont listen to what you do doesnt make what i like wrong.
so babu is the , doesnt mean dialated as a group is cohesive or likeable.
and where the hell is Blackalicious on everyones lists? Cut Chemist is amazing, esp live.
Dialated Peoples played a show headlining for Kweli - thats a mistake IMO.
West may not be your cup of tea, but he is a PRODUCER, as TuanAnh213 said, and as far as producers go he is quite competent as far as rhyming goes.
the fact of the matter is, *I* can actually open my mind enough to enjoy music that may be pop, assuming it is well made - which when considering quality PRODUCTION is hard to find in hip hop (even underground). everyone assumes if you can rhyme then it must be cool -
im not a newbie or a complete retard - Del, Blackstar, Dre, Outkast, Em, Goodie Mob; across the board I love hip hop. i just dont understand why i must be wrong cause you say so| |
