| oh and something else stupid, if u are sick for an exam u cant retake it...i think thats retarded, like if u get hit by a bus or something university wont care, they will just give u grade going into the exam, so if u do bad on midterm, then ur screwed, cuz most courses are just midterm and final...(of course its ur fault for messing up midterm, but still i think if u have a good excuse u should be able to retake an exam...O |

At most lectures they tell you to have a "buddy" who you can get notes from. Gettin lecture notes shouldn't be a problem.

2) the university schedules tests/midterms DURING ur lectures so u have to miss those
|
At UofT lecture take priority over tests/examinations, if you have a conflict you should let your proff know, and it's up to him/her to reschedule the time you write yours at.
As for the huge break in-between that sure as hell sucks. If I was you I'd just attend once a week and borrow someone else's notes.
I try to avoid going to university as much as possible, it's much easier and less time-consuming to study from home (I have to commute for 2.5hrs there and back).
I go to UofT too btw ;). |

It's university policy, they can't just say that they won't do it. They must provide an alternative for you because you have a conflict. Whether it's a reschedule and an excuse from writing the exam.

That again is up to you. When I was sick my first year, I'd go and wake up early in the morning and ride the TTC sneezing and coughing and take those stupid notes (if I needed to). But, if you are so sick that you can't move, then you can get a doctors note, which excuses you from the midterm.
University gives you as much(or little) freedom as you want. what you do with it is really up to you. You just gave them a considerable amount of money, that's all they care about. Getting the education is up to you :). |

that's the problem, getting an education these days is not about receiving knowledge... it's about paying money to a random uni for a degree. |

this reminds me of when I was going to a final one year and my ankle twisted and I landed on its side on the stairs....I think I broke or sprained it....
anyways it swelled up huge and I still had to walk my ass to my final....
plus there was 2 feet of snow out, it was uphill...and I only had tin foil around my feet....with no jacket.... |

Yep, and well, unless you can change it, you really have no choice but to make the best of it. Nobody in universities cares whether or not they teach you something (there's is an odd proff who does), so it's really up to you to learn. |

you appreciate things much more when you no longer have them
hs is awesome (not the education) but everything else about it.
you could hang out with friends all the time, hw was nothing compared to college hw, weekends weren't spent studying...
