Here's my 2 cents. Now what i say shouldn't be taken as seriously as other peoples opinions but still wouldn't hurt to read it :).
Me, I hate certain things about PvD but just hating pvd as a person isn't what i'm about. Few things i don't like about PvD :
1 - 75% of the times i've seen him he's been a bit snobby to his fans, i've heard really good things that he's done for them including almost stopping a show due to the fact that a fan got the strong side of a bouncer but this side of PvD i haven't seen.
2 - I hate how he plays tracks more then twice, it's almost like he feels he can do it because he's so big, i can't stand that.
3 - I hate his signature :stongue: it's all sloppy can't tell wtf it is.
I'm new to the whole EDM thing but that doesn't mean that i know my share of EDM and history. Many DJ's that hit it big later on do something to piss off a fan. Tiesto did that coke commercial... for some reason people were all pissed because they felt he was a sellout... ask me the sellout came before Nyana. Seems like he forgot how to put together a magik journey right after ISOS3, ISOS2 if you ask me.
PvD did the Connected commercial for motorola... i liked it but i also have a mixed feeling towards it..
This is just me but the DJ's i think should get a bit more respect and support and Ferry and Armin, both really good DJ's with a awesome personality. I just met Ferry on my birthday and when I got in the DJ booth he was talking to me like he's known me for a while, awesome person. When i first met Armin he was extrememly humble i asked him to sign 2 things and take a picture and he said nothing but "sure, no problem" every time. I've seen pictures of Armin doing some awesome for and with his fans and i've also seen video of it... Just don't say something like "you hate pvd for being commercial" and try to bull yourself by saying that you wouldn't do it if you had the chance... that's all Adios

| These commercials that Tiseto and PVD did, when and where did they first appear? I totally missed seeing them. |

pvd will always have a special place in my heart, just as tiesto will from a few years ago. tiesto got me into trance back towards the end of 2000 (even though i didnt get a chance to see him live until may of last year). my musical tastes changed when i first heard silence and then found his energy 2000 and zoom israel sets. everything i had liked before seemed almost pointless and unemotional after that.
when it felt like trance changed it's sound a year or two after that i grew very disheartened because i felt like the music i loved didnt really have any identity at that point. i wasnt feeling tiesto that much and i wasnt sure what would become of my addiction to the club scene and it's music i had grown so attached to.
i'll never forget when i first heard pvd's "live at rosenmontags rave 2002" set. at the 22 minute mark when he dropped "everywhere i go", i knew then and there that once again my musical tastes had taken a different turn and what i loved so much was going in yet another direction.
dont get me wrong, i still love pvd, and it's been wonderful catching him at all his gigs in the past 2 years since i saw him for the first time at soundfactory. some of the novelty has worn off though and it just doesnt feel like it used to when i would listen to him spin or one of his livesets. to cope the best thing i do is play the stuff that got me hooked in the first place.
this weekend may have been another turning point. i saw ferry for the first time. i had never been really crazy about any of his sets i had downloaded but i wasnt going to pass judgement till i saw him live. to say that the set he played at avalon reached out and took me to a place i hadnt been in a long time is an understatement. saturday night is what trance has been about all along for me. a dj being able to touch the deepest parts of my soul with his music. no words will ever be able to describe what i felt the other night for 5 1/2 hours straight.
i have come to the realization that not everything can last forever. i will always love pvd and tiesto as well, but i may be ready to move on and become immersed in a new dj. after all variety is the spice of life and what keeps things interesting.
so if pvd isnt your thing or your tastes may have just changed, go easy on the guy. people change and embracing that change is what life is all about. i may complain about the fact that going to a pvd show is not what it used to be for me, but i will never forget how amazing it used to make me feel or all of the happiness that he has brought me.
just be happy that you can appreciate something like trance and make it such an important part of each of your lives. what would your lives be like if you didnt appreciate music as each of you do? i cringe at the thought of not having a special place in my heart for music that can truly move me.
to each his own.... |

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WAAAAAAAAAAA I HATE PVD! PVD! SUCKS! TIESTO SUX! FERRY SUX! EVERY BODY SUX!!!!!!! PVD THE POPSTAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
popstar in what country?
How can you dislike someone soo much when you dont even know them?
When was the last time sasha even produced a track? come on...
DAVID FORBES vs Charlie May - XPANDARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Junkie XL - Airdawndagger
When was the lst time you saw paul even take a break from touring? Paul has toured 2002-2003, hardly taking any breaks since his global tour, he is a ing machine i could not even imagine it. And his schedule this year doesnt look like he is slowing down. Im sure if paul toured as much as other djs, mabe came to the states once a year, you would have different thoughts. But we are lucky, and get paul 4 times alone in nyc... |

As someone who's not always been a pvd fan i'd like to put 2 cents in here...
Names like PVD, Oakenfold, Sasha, the late Tony De Vit, Digweed etc are synonymous with people outside EDM as they have worked their asses off, and deserve hype whereas you get some like for example markus schulz & edgar v who whilst still busy don't do the load around the world as the others yet, and for that reason the hype should goto those who do travel so much to please so many people, be grateful for who he is, and if you don't like the tunes he plays don't bother going to see him, but remember a lot do want him to be there so give them their dues |

Agreed. But we PVD fans shouldn't even entertain this thread. We're just doing what they want us to do and falling into their trap. They have their opinion, and they're 100% entitled to it. So just let them rant and rave if it makes them feel better. |

your posts give me a headache.
but um yeah, in response to your question, the last time sasha produced a track was 2003 and it was a damn good one too- UNKLE- in a state. PVD produces a lot more of course, but, hey, i'd rather put out one good song than 6-7 that all sound the same. |
