Stonecold would come under Epic- trance in my book. Usually tech trance songs dont have a build up that goes for like half the song.
Tech and tribal trance seem to be interlinking here with people like randy katana. I dont think he is tech at all. For me tech trance is tracks like Donald & Giles- Manufactured, Musix- Cyber desire, Fred baker- My thing, Ron van Den Beuken- Timeless, Tiesto- Traffic and Adagio for strings. I think tech trance and dark trance go hand in hand. Thats the stuff i usually dont have my hands in the air for:happy2: |

I can't believe i have just read a thread about tech trance and not a single person has mentioned the man who is without a doubt, the GOD of tech trance, Oliver Klitzing.
Also known as: Reloop, Kaylab, Fusion 808, Apendix E, Analog System, Midi 4, Oliver, Silicon Works, Twisters Scilence, Upside Turner..
For a small sample of this guys work check out a few of these:

^^^ I find him too hard, which is probably why not a lot of people have mentioned him.
I have one Kaylab mix which is an awesome tech trancer, but the rest of his productions are very HARD tech trance and are usually found being played but the hard trance DJs. |

Yeah most of his stuff is pretty hard, but there is alot that isnt. Check out..

I dunno what hardstyle you've been listening to but even the hardest of kaylab's tracks does not resemble hardstyle in any way..
Techno yes, hardstyle no ing way..
Anyway have a listen to the two tracks i mentioned and get back to me. |

okay webbie just stop there.
i would probably say bassraiders - prepare to qualify (derler and kltizing mix) is the hardest klitzing piece i've ever heard... and that aint even in the same hemisphere as hardstyle. |
