Which AMP should I get and yes i've used search

| I'm wondering what amp you guys would suggest to get I have a pair of JBL SF25's. I'm wondering what would be a good amp to get for these speakers. |

I think the rule of thumb is your amp's wattage should be twice the wattage of the speakers it's pushing. Most amps don't push their maximum wattage. With those SF25's it depends on how you want to use them. If they're in your basement, then having a 2000 watt amp will be plenty. If you're using them for open area parties, I would get a bigger amp to be on the safe side. The specs I read on them says 2000 watts peak. (:eyes: )
Good brand names for amps is Crown (best) and Mackie (better). |

i'd say a crown ce2000 would be *plenty*
note two things:
a) those speakers only handle 500watts RMS, the 2k peak is ONLY for peak. no way in hell the low-end jbl drivers will take 2kw and not fry for any amount of time.
b) these are 4-ohn speakers. that means amps push more power to them.
a ce2000 will push 600+ watts RMS into 4 ohms. |

I really think if anyone want to ask for opinions in buying equipment. The best you can help us is to give us your budget, and what you're looking for.
Anyway, I've used a Mackie M1400i for 4 JBL TR225s in bridge mono mode. Theres plenty of power to run them, TR and SF series are pretty much the same, SF just has a little more power. A good way is to run your speakers a little less than continuous rms watt. Hope that would help |
