Help: Pads

I'm kind of new at producing and wanted to know about pads so i searched a few definitions about what were they in this thread. Found something but i want to know how can i make a nice sounding pad like: Human Evolution - Human Evolution, Phil Green - Tribal Trance or Bt & PvD - Flaming June (Mudblood Rmx).

I don't mean a rip of those tracks, what i say is: what samples can i use, effects and stuff like that. Thanks.

Well you would use a synthesizer to make the pads. This would give you better results that using samples as you get more control over the sound.

Pulse Width Modulation helps to give air to the pad, raise the amp attack and amp release, little bit of phaser maybe, some reverb.

Atmosphere is a great synth for doing pads if you're in the market for a VSTi that can do them well.

If ur using strictly fl, and no vsts.. then ur only luck is wav files (ive found some decent wav file pads), or 3xosc (the synth in fl).. there are some presets, but its not gonna sound anything close to what your going for.

When it comes to effects for pads in general, some stereo seperation is good, delay and reverb are a must (imo).. and eq obviously.

I'm using only fl but what else can i use to finish the song i'm making? 3xosc doesn't sound like i want even if i give a long list of effects.

Firs of all look at the top of the forum, there are links to FREE soft synths, so you can get the ones you like I personally like Superwave 8, Triangle 2, Claw. and start playing with them so you get an idea of what you want and how to do it, the only softsynth I keep using from fl is the TS404 I donīt understand the 3osc hehehe so I left it there. download the softsynths and experiment....

for pads check VSTi demo Vanguard (very very good).

or NAtive Instruments Absynth2 VSTi (4 me good to Ambient or very soft trance)

or others VSTi SoftSynth ( pro-51, penatgon I)
