There really is nothing like hearing a track and running to the dance floor, people pointing and cheering at you when getting into a serious groove, a girl whispering in your vacant ear, or grabbing hold of some green laser lights and trying to put them in your pocket to taken them home for future use when you need a kick and would like to start a disco in your room.
I've found the dance music world is full of those with inflated egos and those who have lost the love and the true reason why they play, but also there are enough new entrants and people that play tracks for people's enjoyment and not to showcase their almost geeklike collection of rare vinyl, that keeps it fresh.
Gotta love the successful crew that let you plug in and record, spin their records, show you their styling tricks and moves, a borrow their cds, it all comes around in the end, its a big circle. |

| Because I love music, I can't imagine my life without it and DJ'ing is another way for me to enjoy it. |

For me, I had been a classical violist for 10 years, and the experience was almost meditative. I could perform in a two hour concert, and never think about the music once. It was to the point of meditation. For that time, I thought all music was like that.
Then I heard BT's "Flaming June"
This music, this techno, this trance they called it, it just grabbed a hold of me, and never let go. Just the rush of a well made set, taking songs I had heard tons of times and making them new again. From there, it wasn't long before I had my own cd-dj's, and gave them a spin.
There is nothing that can beat the rush of having your best friends come up to you during a party with these huge smiles on their faces, and the only thing they can say is, "Damn, I don't know what you just threw down, but it's incredible." Sharing the music with others is almost better than the enjoyment I get from mixing.
That is why I DJ :D |

| I do it for a very deep love of the music, as well as for educating the people who have not yet experienced it. |

I keep DJ'ing because it's great fun. Even if you trainwreck every mix, you can't deny that blasting away at home with quality tunes isn't the incredibly fun! Plus you get to dance around! :D |
So true :p Electronics are fun! :toothless |
